Flu Shot for First Time

I got the flu shot for the first time yesterday-ever, on my existence. Not sure what held me back before but this year I wanted to get it so I could avoid getting the flu- and confusing it with CoronaVirus. Plus, at the end of winter last year, I got the flu very badly after traveling to Mexico (or, I was patient zero for COVID) and I was literally immobilized for several days. Who has time for that? Now I am patiently waiting to see if the shot itself makes me sick. I have heard so many people who it has made sick almost immediately after getting it, and I am praying I am not one of those. I also got a Hep B shot as I never finished the series and so I need to start over, and I don’t know WHAT did it , but my arm is SO sore! Every time I lift it, it’s in pain. Lol! Have you gotten a flu shot? Do they make you sick?

I haven't had the flu since I was 9 or 10 years old, so I haven't had one this time either. I should have a thetanus shot though, last time I had one my arm got really stiff for some days so I have to plan it carefully. I've only heard about one friend getting sick from the flu vaccine though, so I think it's pretty safe.

I have had mine for the year I get it annually. No side effects other than sometimes soreness in arm. As far as the shot making you sick, I lean with the doctors that say, no it can't do that. Those people may have already been exposed to the flu and would get the flu whether they got the shot or not. I guess that is one thing we will never know the truth on. My MIL was one that thought the shot made her sick.

I've never had a flu shot before. I'm considering it for this year. The hep B shot hurts like hell.

They don't make me sick. And I barely feel that tiny needle. I will get mine today if there isn't a line up
