I was surfing the Internet and cannot believe what I read. There is a dangerous dish that Japanese people love to eat. The Japanese dish is ‘fugu.’ It is being prepared from pufferfish. Why is it dangerous to eat it? Pufferfish organs are poisonous. Take note, it is only chefs who had trained for three years can prepare this. Knowing that it is dangerous, the Japanese still considered a special dish. Would you like to eat this dangerous dish? Image Credit: straitstimes.com

I have always wanted to give it a try I think it would be a cool thing to be able to tell people. Also from what I have read it is nowhere near as dangerous as people think it is.

I guess it is a great gastronomic experience. If the chef is an expert in preparing it. I can indulge myself in it.

@Shavkat I think that’s why it is so safe, in Japan you need a government license to sell it.

@Sam_graphixer I can relate to you. In China, they like having turtle soup. Imagine turtles are crying when killing them.

I know that this fish is indeed poisonous. Our local fishermen also know how to prepare it to become edible. But there are only few who can do this. And l know some got poisoned from doing it.

@Shavkat Me too I wouldn’t risk my life if l would be given instructions on how to remove the poisonous parts of the fish. Many are saying that the meat is tasty thats why many are lured to taste it

I heard that local fishermen can do this, too. I think I had watched a documentary about this before. But then, I do not have the confidence to try it though.

If I knew that it was prepared correctly, I'd eat it.

I am sure you have the guts to do it. If I think it is safe, I might have a little bite.

I don't want to eat it. I know that the chefs need special training before they are allowed to prepare it, but mistakes could still happen, and I think it is too risky.

I agree. A human error can happen along the process of making it.

I wouldn’t even attempt to eat it. Even if I’m paid lots of money I’ll pass.

I've heard of this all my life (did you know I am Japanese - but born and raised in the US) . . . as much as I love seafood, I wouldn't dare risk eating this. My parents have not eaten this, but I think my dad would try it if given the opportunity!

Thank you for telling me that you are Japanese. Even I can not take the risk of eating this dish. I am sure your dad seems to be curious about what does it taste like.

That's what I also think. What if the chef made a mistake in preparing it. I do not want to feel sorry in the end.
