Day 74 Promise 532 John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He who believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. Have you wanted to do something extraordinary, so people would remember you and never forget what you did? Many people in history have achieved great things, yet people forget what they’ve done soon after they made the achievement and only history records their achievements. Jesus told His disciples they would do greater things than He did if they believed in Him. I often wondered how anyone could do anything greater than Jesus with His many miracles and teachings. Yet, that’s what Jesus said. If we believe we will do greater things than Him. He also said whatever we asked in His name, He would do it because it glorified His Father. Sometimes it’s hard to believe people will do what they say they will when so many forget their promises as soon as they make them. As Christians, who truly believe every word God gave in the Scriptures, you know you can and will do greater things than Jesus did, and do every time you witness or tell others about Jesus and what He did for you. Jesus could not tell others how He came to be a Christian or follower because He is the Son of God and without sin. He didn’t have a story to tell about a huge conversion in His life. Only those who accepted Him as Savior and Lord have that advantage. Your life story and how you came to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord is the greatest thing you could do because your story lets others know they have a chance at salvation. Through your testimony of deliverance and salvation, others who stood in the same place as you can see the hope Jesus gives all those who follow Him. Your prayers for others give hope that they too can receive salvation. God honors every request that honors Him. It might seem like it’s taking a long time to get an answer to your prayer, but never give up. It’s not your timing that matters, but God’s timing. He knows the right time for salvation for every person. Let’s pray: Father, Your will be done in my life. Let me be a testimony of Your love in my life so people will know it’s You, not me who matters most. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
