A sad day for The Horse

I just read that my favorite contemporary piano player, Keith Jarrett, suffered two strokes in 2018 and has minimal use of his left hand right now. The prognosis is not good. I also learned that bassist Gary Peacock, a member of the famous Keith Jarrett Trio, died three days before my birthday, on September 4, 2020. That trio had wowed jazz audiences for literally decades. I'm going to light a candle tonight. There's not much else I can do. I'll try not to drink too much. I Fall in Love too Easily:

I actually played a bass riff tonight where the words "Gary Peacock" were the basis for what I did. Nobody knew what I did, and I didn't tell anybody about it. It was my way of honoring his memory.

I remembered him during a bass lead last night. I created a "riff" to the rhythm of his name. Nobody knew, but it worked. Jarrett is one of my piano idols, and Peacock was one of my bass idols.

Keith is still alive, but only has use of his right hand. I'm lucky in that I got to see the trio live a few years ago.

I read that yesterday, very sad. Can you imagine how he must feel. Very unfortunate. Did not know about Gary Peacock.
