I Placed One International Delivery From Amazon

Am I Stupid? I have to pay heavy transportation charges, customs duty, and International duties (unknown), which makes the cost almost 4times more than the local cost in my country. Why did I order this? Frankly, around $40 were idle in my amazon.com gift card account for more than 3 years. And, as per their policy, transferring back to your bank account is impossible. Hence, I decided to utilize the same! Nothing Else! What action you would have taken if the international gift card is lying idle on amazon.com and no solution to get back the money in your local currency? I wish I could send a very small gift - by heart to someone who is in America or any of the neighboring states!
