Cooking some taco meat

I've been wanting tacos for awhile now but each night I decide I don't feel like cooking and I grab something from the freezer. I decided this morning to cook up the beef with onion and garlic so it will be ready for dinner tonight. I'll also cut up the lettuce and tomato so everything will be all set to go.
I make my own taco "seasoning". It is easy enough to do. I add kosher salt, ground black pepper, ground cumin and chili powder to the beef along with a generous splash of water to make the "sauce". I don't know what else they put in the commercial mix but my version is pretty darn good and I know exactly what is in it.
Now tonight I just have to heat up the taco shells and dinner will be served!

Yeah, sometimes you have to strike when the iron is hot. I am like that with cleaning. I have the stuff here to season tacos, I don't usually buy the mix. Homemade is better for you anyway.

This is a very delicious meal, using all four food groups:) How is kosher salt different than regular table salt?

@kobesbuddy The other thing is that it does not have any silicates or anything to prevent clumping, etc. and it makes a more clear and tasty pickling brine.

@NJChicaa The reason I asked, Mom used only kosher salt when she canned pickles.

I have a recipe for taco seasoning, and have made some. I could not tell you off the top of my head everything that is in it. Some commercial blends have corn starch or corn meal. I did not realize that until a friend who is allergic to corn meal and corn starch said that there was only one commercial brand she could use. I love to be prepared ahead of time for meals like this.

Sounds good. I'll take mine without too many onions. :-)
