Foreign object in food

I know that food service establishments apply standards on their business operations and when it comes to sanitation, it must be of highest level but sometimes, mistakes do happen. I myself been served food with object that shouldn’t be there and I settled them immediately to the staff without making so much attention. It’s gross of course but it’s been there so what can I do? Lately, a woman posted in social media about the food she ordered from a local restaurant here for takeout and found it later upon taking their dinner that there’s something unusual from it. Do you have similar experience and how did you react?

Yes, and I am not one of those who also coz a scene. I just tell the crew to change my food. And viola! they gave me another complete set of what I ordered. Anyway I feel bad also when I went to one of my favorite mall in Q.C. and then I bought 5 different brownies in this cheap brownies stand, but when they are getting my order on the glass shelf there are lots of small cockroach on it, so what they did, they get me a new one on their storage, but I never ate it, and I feel bad because I wasn't able to advise the an who is buying next to me, I am torn between the health of the man and the store might lose their license, I just hope they become more responsible enough.

Cockroaches are really a problem in food establishments. I had also similar experience. There's this bakery in the mall and I really like those big monay bread in display. I did not buy when I noticed cockroaches crawling on the trays dress.

To have a foreign material in food item delivered by a restaurant is very serious matter. It could have serious health problem. I have not encountered such problem any time.

That's why food handlers should exercise caution and keep an eye during the preparation to ensure that there's no unrelated matter incorporated in it.

I ordered Halo halo from a local establishments, and I am almost finished with the serving when I chewed something rubbery. When I took it out it's a soft wire and good thing I didn't swallow it. I didn't buy again from the restaurant. Have yet to tell the owner about it. The pandemic prevented us from inspecting the establishments.

Great that you did not swallow it as it will hurt you as the object goes down. Food handlers are sometimes negligent.

A couple of days ago someone complain about screws in their food in this forum. Hygiene is important in the food industry. Now that business is bad everywhere, don't they need to try harder?

Oh really? That's horrible because it would be dangerous if swallowed. Could break a false teeth if chewed as well. I agree. Food handlers must be very careful to avoid this incidents.

There was a detergent bar soap in the plate where they serve my food. Not a residue but a good one inch of soap under where the chicken was placed.

I've never been there. For the food place itself must be clean. When it's crowded but I know there is "local rain" I stay away from it.

I think this a result of someone's carelessness. It should not be included in the food.

That is good. Mistakes like this must be avoided by food handlers. It's bad for their reputation once information leaked in public.
