Today, the 2nd of November, we commemorate our beloved dead.
In the Philippines, we call this feast 'Undas.' We celebrate by visiting the tombs of our dearly departed relatives in the cemetery, light candles, offer flowers, and pray.
Why do we do this?
Because we believe the church suffering in purgatory needs prayers.
Purgatory is some kind of antechamber of heaven. It is a place of cleansing for those who have reached the gates of death without reaching the full perfection of life as represented by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Do you pray for your loved ones who have gone ahead from this life?

We did lit a candle in our altar for our beloved dear ones and attended an online mass for them. It was also our time to be thankful for sparing my place in the province where my father resides. He was shaken but he has the house intact. Also thankful that it did not reach us here anymore.

@eileenleyva Oh thanks for that prayer for my father. We’re constantly communicating but since he’s not having power there he is saving the battery of his cellphone.

@rsa101 Yup. Tell him to save the power. You could exchange stories when the power is restored. I do hope that would be soonest time possible.

@kenroyhunter86 According to friends of the deceased, there was no sign of trouble. They simply went to his condo unit when nary a response was received the whole day. Very sad.
Thank you for the image. Our God is a merciful God and loves everyone very deeply.
