Day 86 Promise 545 John 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. People look for proof of many things. They need to touch, taste, smell, see, and hear with their own senses that something is true. 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. Thomas needed proof of Jesus’ resurrection. When Jesus stood in front of him, then Thomas believed. John, the author of the gospel, showed there were many more signs Jesus did, but those things written in the gospel was enough to prove Jesus is the Son of God. As Christians, you looked for proof and when you found your proof, you believed. It wasn’t the proof Thomas needed. It was something else you couldn’t explain any other way. Think about your acceptance of Jesus as your Savior. What made it different from any other time? You know it’s the Holy Spirit’s job to bring people to salvation at just the right moment. You may have heard the same message many times, but that time was different. That time you didn’t just hear, you listened, and the Holy Spirit worked in you for your salvation. There are signs all around you showing you the majesty of God and Jesus your Savior. Don’t let those signs go unnoticed. Let’s pray: Father, help me see Your signs of salvation. Let me bring attention to those signs when I am with someone who doesn’t know You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 3 November 2020 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay
