That'd be the message received from Mother Nature this autumn. She finally listened to my cries. Years 'f lack 'f great beauty 's the leaves 'd be ripped from their limbs, sent crashin' to the grounds whilst still green. This autumn though's been a most wondrous sight to 'hold. Leaves too stubborn to part 'til filled with rich colors to tantalize my senses 'n bring joy to my heart. Puddles 'n piles 'bound 'f such glorious shades from pale yellows to bold burgundies. They've fallen like gentle rains. Mesmerizin' me with their journey. Each a fine work 'f art, some perfectly 'ntact whilst others show the wear 'n weary 'pon their surface. Like humans 's we age, the wrinkles 'n scars 'f time, signs such 'twas a good life.

This fine picture puts me nostalgic. I love Fall, but this year I cannot do a walk in the woods or pick mushrooms because of a lockdown. Past 60 you are not sure to see next Fall, what is lost is lost.

Sheesh, don't be so maudlin! Just look at Prue Leith and Mary Berry, both with blooming TV careers in their 80s, Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Presidents (probably) in their 70s, Queen Elizabeth, still carrying out Royal duties in her 90s! You could have a whole new life ahead of you!

Your leaves must turn later then ours. There’s pretty much no leaves at all left on the trees and any ones that have fallen to the ground by now have turned brown. It’s a very ugly time of year here.

@crazyhorseladycx that may easily be why. I was so surprised when the heavy rain in early or didn't bring them all down. At least the ones that had changed already but it didn't bother them none.

@crazyhorseladycx When the kids were little, we tried to pick colorful autumn leaves that were still pliable . . . we ironed them into wax paper sheets to make a handmade book. We also took some and laminated them into business card sized sheets and made a hanging mobile (it actually preserved the colors for a long time!). It IS fun to collect, isn't it? We still don't have a lot of autumn colors here . . . slowly getting there but it'd never be truly colorful. Yep - it's a precious gift .

me, too! 'tis the first'n all my years'n these high plains such's been so. the colors 've been 'stoundin' from the bradford pear. soooo much eye candy! yepperz, 'njoyin' 'em, to the point i'd the need to stop pickin' 'em 'p 'n bringin' 'em here'n the house . 've preserved many, still've quite a few to go. 'tis 'bout the 'nly 'rain' that seems to fall, still a most precious gift.
