I am so "over it"

I am over it with our Impala car. Even though his wife did not want him to, the mechanic came and got it again.
For free.
He worked on it. Drove it. He said it was not overheating for him, he had figured out that there was air in the line behind the heater core, or something like that.
We went to get it, it overheated on hubby twice coming home. I do not want to put any more time or money into it at all.
I will not even drive it the ten miles or so into work.
We have two working vehicles, it is enough.

Our mechanic also picks up junk cars. Usually pays for them. He has done so much free to work on this that when we do dispose of it we will just sign it over to him. He will sell the parts and make back some of what he has spent in labor trying to make it work.

We will get another one sometime. I can drive it to the bus stop safely and have a place to sit if the weather is bad, but I would not do any more with it than that.

I do not blame you for being so frustrated and angry about the car not being fixed right. So glad you have another vehicle to drive other than that one.

We have had three mechanics address this problem. It will be okay for me to drive to the bus stop and to have here in our tiny town, but not on the road.

Are the mechanics in different shops or the same shop? So you cannot drive far it sounds like, that is not good. Do you believe any of them to fix what the problem really is?

It is better to be over it ,if you have to spend too much on maintenance.

No one thinks we are crazy. We are not in a position right now to get a different car, but we can get by with the vehicles we have.

I would like something different but it is not urgent. I am not into getting stranded.

I had one like that would never overheat when I took it to a garage..but as soon as I drove it away.It would start going bonkers.

You know how I feel. I actually drove it home one day last week, forty miles, without overheating, but the next day it did.

Maybe time to sell it and hope it behaves while someone test drives it.

Our mechanic also runs a salvage yard and when we are ready for it to be gone, he will get it.

It is frustrating and the mechanic is frustrated too. He was so pleased when he thought it was fixed.

Our rule of thumb has always been to have one working vehicle each plus a spare because we drive old ones.

We can manage without it. The only way I would use it right now is to drive it the two blocks to the bus stop if the weather is bad so I have a place to sit and be warm and dry.
