Bajra is not that common in our area although it is available. It is common with the migrant labour from Karnataka who work in construction industry. I understand it is very heavy compared to wheat but good for health.

Bajra is one of principal crop of Rajasthan, and it is also big producer of it in India. No doubt it is healthy and good in eating it in winter.

I have never eaten millet (and I am not familiar with the name 'bajri', so I had to look it up). It seems that it's a very old crop which originated in Africa four to four and a half thousand years ago and was introduced to India some 500 to a thousand years later. It isn't known how it made its way there but there was, presumably, some trade between Africa and India. Millet has a very high fibre content and can slow digestion. Because it releases the carbohydrate slowly, it can be useful in controlling diabetes but the indigestibility can cause bloating problems (which is, presumably, how it affects you). Too much millet in the diet can also affect the thyroid, so it should be eaten in moderation and mixed with other grains.

I can understand it's a bit heavier. I often make it in lunch. Generally I will have 3 wheat or jowar chapati but when it comes to bajra, raagi Or makki, one or one and half is good enough.

Yes you are right it is one or one half is enough. makki is some light than it. I never eat chaptti of jowar and ragi, Raagi is not available here.
