Remote TV replacement

I noticed that my mom's colleague who used to watch tv in the living room, no longer watches. I thought he got bored after watching the final results of 2020 election. But when I went there to watch tv while having breakfast, i noticed the remote doesn't work. I thought it was batteries, so I bought a new remote instead. This is like the sixth time I had remote replaced.

Your mom's colleague watches TV at yours? He doesn't have his own? And just stop watching just because the remote doesn't work? I don't even know what to say...
Just like my mom's remote tv. It got broken so often because her grandchildren love slamming it.

@Cheyee he didn't break it. Just got his saliva on. Like plenty of time. So gross too. What's tasty about a remote? Guess us adult would never understand. But don't underestimate a toddler strength. Lil Bro smashed my aunt's car dashboard once. He's not even six back then. Dad had to replace it.

One time I had that problem with the remote control so I opened it and rubbed a pencil eraser on the contact points inside. After that, the remoter control functioned again.

Hello @KityCat THey are called universal remote, but in this case its more suitable to old style tv's.
