We were in our local hardware shop and picked up this handy little gadget - which we may never use. However, at $10, it was too cute and potentially useful not to purchase.
The ‘stick’ part extends. If you turn the knobby bit in the middle a little light comes on. You position the mirror end so the light shines on the mirror and is then reflected in whatever direction you want it to be. So, if you can’t see, say, behind the sink, this, hopefully, would allow you have a look at whatever it is that is hidden.
This would have been handy when we had a leak in the water filter in the caravan. Not being able to access and/or see behind the unit made it very difficult to repair.
Don’t you think it’s natty?

At first glance I thought it was a magnifying glass, which would also be quite useful. You have found a treasure.

My mom would have loved to get on one of those. She was the handy type that could fix just about anything except a computer or car. As for me, I call the repairman, I have no aptitude for fixing stuff around the house, car or computer but I do enjoy learning how to use the apps on a computer and rigging things in my yard.

I can see where it could be really useful. Some places are very hard to access.

I thought it was for checking out teeth like molars and such.

That's what it looks like, doesn't it? But a great big one - maybe for giants!

Hopefully we'll justify its purchase by needing it at least once in it, and our, lifetime.

I don't know what natty means; but I know it looks cool. I have a magnifying glass with a light that's pretty natty. :-)

@LindaOHio My friend does needlework and sometimes quilts by hand. She would never manage with the magnifier.

I think so too. I don't know how long the battery will last but I guess you can get new ones.
