Six and a half hours on the roads.

What a Saturday it was yesterday, one I didn't expect to put an exclamation mark on the last day of the liturgical year. I was on the roads for six and a half hours, wary of the changes of the bus lanes at the Metro's main avenue - EDSA, and the bumper to bumper movement at the alternative route - C5, with trucks and container vans and mixers alongside. The Christmas Rush crept into my thoughts but I surmised the road jam could just be the usual overload of vehicles needing to transport goods and services. The motorbikes have probably quadrupled since the beginning of the pandemia. It was an unavoidable travel for me that started at 9:30 in the morning. I was in my pretty loose dress, hoping I could show it off at Greenbelt, Makati, where my daughter had a luncheon with her fellow scholars. But my younger daughter called and wanted to be fetched, so I made the long route to the hospital across the metropolis and back again. My daughter was apprehensive about the Greenbelt area, the virus, for sure, could be lurking somewhere. We decided to wait in the car. My elder daughter came a little later with two paper cups of coffee - a hot cappuccino for me and soy latte for her sister. We talked virus and strains and flu shots, friends infected, etcetera, including the insane RC commercial all the way home. The clock showed ten minutes after 4 pm when I entered my bedroom. I immediately changed clothes, no need for a shower for I was as I was before I left, freshly showered with my Joe Malone still clinging to my pretty dress from London. Hit the bed and listened to the live feed of the Mass. It was an anticipated first Sunday of Advent Mass. A soothing moment to restore the physical energy. Watched a movie after a sumptuous lemony chicken supper courtesy of my elder daughter, and later in the night, a heart-filling piano music of Christmas and the Lord's Prayer.

Hopefully, you found that outing successful. I personally would not stand six hours on the road for any reason. Pandemic or not.

Yup, I do think I got my task done pretty well for the day. Our roads are narrow and our drivers speed crazy. One is always on the defensive. Plus, sharing the roads with motorbike riders ain't easy. Sigh.

This reminds me of my old days when I used to travel around the same time daily for work. I didn't continue that for a long time though.

Traveling before and after work takes much from our time. We could have used all those precious time resting or sleeping so we could perform better in our tasks.

@ExplorewtMe The pandemia, in a way, corrected that problem. It's work from home, even school from home.

That was kind of a long travel you had last weekend. I never realised that traffic has gone that bad since I didn't go out except go in our nearby Shopping mall which we didn't notice that traffic was really accumulating somewhere. It has been months since I have been in that place and I wonder how they look like now especially it is Xmas season already.

Thank you. A fine weekend for me, clashing opinions with my two daughters. But I enjoyed the conversations tremendously. Kept my grey cells active. Probably preventing me from dementia.

Six and a half hours on the roads? You have a lot of patients. Me personally would always take a bath after going outside, because who knows what clings into my body. And I like the after bath feeling

Never left the car. That's why my butt ached. Hu hu. I always take a shower whenever I arrive home from somewhere, except this time. My daughters were laughing because it was like I appeared I never left home and dressed up for nothing.

Be safe on the trip. I missed traveling on a road trip for more than 5 hours.
