Are you sure there's no response too?

As many of you know comments here on another members discussion is called a response while if we join in the conversation on another person's response that's called a comment and gets a thread started.
I've read in the past that some members don't like when someone gets involved in a thread but never actually responds on a their discussion. Now I wonder if that's not the case at all and the person getting the notifications are deleting the wrong ones.
I will often make my response on a discussion and then continue to read the responses others gave too. If I have something to say I often join in and comment on that response but normally only after I've given my own response.
It gets confusing I know keeping up with all the comments and responses but I'm seeing that not only are my own responses to discussions being missed but others as well.
Now we'll see who understands what I'm trying to say.

No, a lot of members old and new miss responses. I have to watch when notifications get jumped together to look lower because only the first name on a list will show up at the top the rest are lost in between ones we've already seen.

what? does't matter that a person'd nothin' to add to the discussion, but did to the responses to such? i take breaks here 'n lose all notifications. 've not the time to go back huntin' to see who might'a said what to where 'n figure goin' back to my last discussion 'tself 'tis most oft not necessary. water 'nder the bridge mostly.
why'd folks be deletin' comments 'n threads? 'nless such's offensive, 'tis a waste 'f time.

@crazyhorseladycx I don't have them go to my email forget but they're supposed to stick around for about a week. When mine get lost the older ones are at the bottom of the notifications page.
I've been doing better lately with keeping up.

Oh that's another option to the whole thing. I just don't like it when what I've said gets missed especially if I answered a question or something. That's me I guess.
I've missed notifs before too even when I don't mean too. Part of the problem is deleting the wrong ones when that wasn't my plan.

Anna, but you also reply back to any and all responses or comments that you're discussions receive. I'm talking about people that miss the first response before any thread is started.

@MarshaMusselman I know a few who write and never reply back to comments. As I find this habit extremely rude, I do not read those posts anymore.

But do you ever find that sometimes the conversations you get involved with are acknowledged but the member that write the discussion missed the response you also left on it?

@just4him I have responses that get missed when there is no thread to decipher.

@MarshaMusselman That's when the thread gets so bogged down with many answers you lose your way in the thread.

Do you ever notice when the writer misses your response especially if you've also commented on another person's thread?

@MarshaMusselman At times it happens.
It also happens some do not respond/comment on my response to their discussion but I move on taking it as an oversight

I also have commented if I felt I had something to say.

Sometimes I'll reply when it looks like the writer never acknowledged the response given in their discussion.

@Hannihar it doesn't bother you a little? Especially if they've answered everyone else?

I do understand Marsha and I have no problem with whoever wants to comment or respond.
I try to catch all in my discussions but sometimes I miss out.

I see it quite often and what the heck, as long as someone is getting involved, it's all good. n

Do you look in your discussions for ones you may have missed?

@Tampa_girl7 I've done that too before but hopefully not too often.

If I made a list of people that missed my responses in their discussions it probably wouldn't be very long but it's just surprising when I'll answer a question or two from their discussion and they see that I was there but not that response.
