That went well

Today I had an appointment to donate a double unit of red blood cells. My blood pressure was described as "perfect" and my iron level was 15.6. No one had any trouble finding veins or anything. The young lady who was operating the aphaeresis station was very friendly. She thought I was about fifteen years younger than I actually am. I had asked if there was an upper age level for donating. She said she has had donors in their 80's and 90's, even giving power reds. I know that Judy Evans has commented that where she lives, Vince is considered too old. Jabo said she got aged out for donations as well. I am sorting through Christmas decor, deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. This is the extent of my afternoon. Giving blood and going through decor.

Someone in a Facebook group is asking for some ornaments for her little girl. They are having a hard year.

@GardenGerty so your going to give them some of what you decide you no longer want? That will be nice for them.

It does depend on your health. Hubby would like to get healthy enough to give again. It is a fond thought of his.

Drink extra fluids, no heavy lifting. Eat well. This is not bad. I did the lifting the other day.

I never tried giving my blood. It is just that I am scared of doing it.

That's great that everything went so well. I've just checked and it seems I had it wrong. From 76, you can only give platelets if you've given plasma before. I was sure they'd told Vince to stop coming. Perhaps the rules have changed in the intervening years.
