"You rubbed up against my lady's ass!" The Horse kicks some butt in a liquor store parking lot.

So I'm in my local liquor store parking lot (in my truck), heading home with a night cap.
A dude rolls down his window as we both back out and says, "Hey, you touched my lady's ass."
He is a 69-ish white dude.
He continues, "You did like this to me (namaste gesture)."
I say, " That just means namaste: May the part of you that is god-like be one with the part of me that is god-like"
I just want to get home, take a sip of Vodka, and work on my book.
He says "To hell with God. I like the Devil."
I say " Peace be with you." His eyes soften and he begins to drive off. I do the same.
How do you deal with people who are looking for confrontation when none is necessary?

@TheHorse No, it was 'speeding on the highway' related. Quite some years ago.
He was a good singer/musician... I'm sorry he's gone.

Was there really a lady or was she just imaginary?

Sometimes, people are weird... If/When someone tries to get me upset and am not in the mood, I just walk away without saying or doing anything. Uhm... I have been known to get loud and aggressive back, though. *shrug*

@TheHorse I don't like to fight, but if it can't be helped, I do my best. Usually loud and acting aggressive means I don't actually have to hit or be hit. (I'm too pretty to want my face messed up.)
I've only been in two fights. One I won... the other, I ate hamburger while he ate steak... (Do you know that phrase?)
You're always welcome to pm me any time you feel like it.

I am glad I have had no confrontations in ages, usually, my nerve would give out and I'd go home and have a stiff drink.

I tend to be pretty friendly. I thought he was going to tell me I had a headlight out (I do). I was surprised that he was "spoiling for a fight," or whatever. Actually, I like to blame the woman (especially @Vandana7) if I can. Maybe his "girlfriend" is one of those psycho gals who likes to see her man fight over her. I heard her squawking in the background as I was talking to him. I couldn't see her in the darkness, but she could be the lady that I passed while looking for my Vodka. Our bodies did not touch.

@vandana7 I will link you to the same video I linked DE to. "Don't ride with a mad woman!"
Really funny video from the Chris Rock show on how not to get your ass kicked by the police.I know they are other versions of this on YouTube but this one is...

Some people have lost their marbles. I'd probably just ignore the dude and walk away. Or in your case drive off.

I believe since what you do for a living and are good at it you can handle situations. I have trouble dealing with people that want to fight or provoke me. I have a very hard time handling those situations. I guess I never learned how to deal with them.

I just ignore them and move on. I don't give them what they want. I would have done the same.

@TheHorse Good that you didn't confront. Else things could have gone ugly way.

I usually either just ignore them or say something sarcastic and walk away. Sometimes people just bait you to fight with them, and I won't waste my time. They can argue with someone else or themselves.

Ignore them. If not, just be polite. Most people are just looking to blow off some steam and will lash out at the unfortunate person or thing that appears in their path. If you can stay calm, you're not fueling the fire. I am sure that man will remember your kind words.

Don't give them the satisfaction of what they want.
