We didn't install a Christmas tree for this year, but I got two variants of the 'Christmas cactus' plant. It is also called 'crab cactus.' I asked my younger brother to buy them since he was hunting plants within the city yesterday. Are you fond of cactus? Did you install your Christmas tree?

I love Christmas cactus, I have several. Also Easter cactus, and some other orchid cactus as well.

Yeah, we actually put our tree out last night. As I type this, it's actually about four or five in the morning.

I have some succulents here. I am not that delicate when having some plants at home. Regardless, I am asking my younger brother to find me venus fly trap plants, which I think it is too difficult to find. I hope I can your Christmas tree soon.

Your Christmas cactus is very pretty! Perfect for Christmas. Mine is a crochet INE my now gone, made for us one Christmas years ago. It originally had lights with it. The lights stop working 3 years ago the year my Mom passed...spooky.

@Shavkat You know what, it's sideways because I didn't crop it. No lights any longer because lights stopped working. Just didn't get new lights.

I was also surprised that a small cactus-like can have blooms. I do agree that I am not fond of the bigger ones, like the agave plant.

That is nice one you have and it even has a flower. I have never seen one lately. At my Granfather's old house we have lots of cactus plants as well. We just do not have that variety that blooms flower.

I didn't' even know that there are varieties of them. Since my younger brother is becoming a 'plantito,' I am starting to discover new plants that I haven't seen in my life.

In my humble opinion, the Christmas cactus is a type of cactus, too. What do you mean by replacing it? In what way?

A Christmas cactus can't replace a Christmas tree. These are two pairs of shoes. You have the Christmas tree only for some days at the end of December during the holidays and you decorate it with candles and other things, but you have a Christmas cactus for decades.

Those Christmas cactus amaze me when they know when to bloom. I used to have one and it always bloomed right around Christmas. I don't have that cactus anymore but I do put up a Christmas tree.
