I always thought that was neat. I know when my mom passes away sis and I will probably divy up some of our favorite ornaments. She has some nice ones. The same ornamentsthat have always graced our Christmas tree..will be available. I have moved so often ti has been hard for me to keep track of ornaments I really liked, or that told a story. What about you? Do you have heirloom ornaments?

I have other heirlooms on my walls. But not ornaments. My brother moves less that I do, so he has our family ornaments.

My parents still have the ornaments. They have given us some things from our youth but not them.

Oh yes. I know we have a few that belonged to my great grandmother. I have some that belonged to my mother. We have the ones with birth years and other achievements on them too.

@snowy22315 They sure add up after awhile, don't they? I think I'd need two trees just to fit all the ornaments we have.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't even have them all here. There is a storage unit that has Christmas stuff.

I don't think I have any that belonged to my grandma. My guess is my uncle and aunt have those as they live in their former house.

@sallypup Is it Christasy? I don't have anything from my grandma on my mom's side although they left money, but I have a few things from my dads mom including her wedding ring, and cooksbooks with her writing in it.

We rarely decorated for Christmas when I was a child and I can't actually remember ever having a tree.

@snowy22315 We had presents and a huge family gathering. I guess we were just too busy on the farm.

No I don't have any family heirloom ornaments. My mother got a Christmas pickle ornament from her grandmother I believe it was when she married my father.

I think some of the ornaments my mother has may have belonged to her mother or grandmother, not sure.

That ornament should be sturdy or of good quality to last long

Except in the old days they made a lot of them out of a fragile glass.

Yes I do. Some were my mom's she had when she was little. Some were ornaments she gave my brother and me every year. Some were homemade. This year, it'll be boxed up in storage since I have no tree to display them.

My son didn't make any in school really..The county was on a secular kick when he was in school. Lots of kids with different ethnicities and religious backgrounds.
