Sleep eludes me-shortish post

I'm guessing I'm taking too many naps in the daytime. I'm awake most night at least one to two hours, but it's almost seven am and I've been awake since two am to my knowledge. If I'd slept in there it was short spurts of time.
Mostly I was thinking of making sure I take out some sidewalk salt for the big trash pickup tomorrow. I was going to take it out last night but it was a bit heavy since I've not been getting much exercise.
It's heavy because somehow it got wet and now it's solid.
Tomorrow I may need to drink more caffeine during the day to push through my sleepy times or go take a walk or something like call a friend.
What do you do when you get sleepy during the day?
Since I can't sleep I'm going to start my mylot rounds early.

@LadyDuck it's been very chilly here this week but will be ten degrees warmer wed through Fri when it might rain for the first time in weeks.

I've done that done since being off and didn't much yesterday. That could be the simple answer. Today I need to go to the bank and want to finish the laundry and begin another load so I should be much busier today.

I decide what kind of tired I feel. I get tired throughout the day for various reasons. Most of the time it's just a sign I need to try and be a bit more active. Other times, it just means getting off my feet and doing something else equally as productive. Like paying bills or posting on Mylot.

Well my first two weeks off work I slept a lot both day and night but still slept fine at night. When up I did get up periodically to work on projects and maybe that helped me still get some sleep at night.

If I'm sleepy during the day, I try to nap. If that is not possible, I just bear the sleepiness and make sure to get to bed early so I can catch on my sleep.

@allen0187 I've been sleeping better at night again and less in the day so that's good.

Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, there are these videos on YouTube that play relaxing music or relaxing rain or other sounds of nature. I play a video and within an hour I have usually fallen back to sleep.

@MarshaMusselman - I use ear plugs. Like you I don't want to disturb others. I'm the one having trouble sleeping. Why wake the others who are sleeping peacefully?

I think that would wake my husband. I'm wondering if I did get more sleep that I thought because I have yet to catch a nap which is unusual for me. Unless it's because I've gotten more exercise today going up and down the stairs doing laundry.

I've been finding that too and then it helps us sleep better through the night as well. In the beginning I did sleep a lot and it never bothered me but it was difficult doing much because the foot hurt.
Now that it's almost healed I think I need to be more active again. I cleaned some windows this morning with my crew and tomorrow I may do a few more again if I can manage it.

That's easier said than done some days. But I was able to steer clear of naps yesterday and did much better flipping at night.

When I'm working I can nap for an hour or two and still sleep. I'm expecting to go back to work soon and should practice sleeping less since I can't sleep at work.

I don't really get sleepy during the day if I slept adequately the night before.

It is rare but I just have to lay down once in a blue moon.

I've been falling asleep while watching some of my TV shows too, but getting up and doing something seems to have helped at least today.

Normally I can nap without it affecting my night time sleeping. It just didn't work so well last night.

Today has been a better day as I've not had a nap yet even when I've tried, so maybe I got more sleep in between looking at the time than I figured. Once I get back to work I expect things will even out.

I think age has a bit to do with it too. If I can't sleep I just get up and do something. Some nights I'm more up than down.

I would prefer getting up when I can't sleep but my husband would freak out.

@MarshaMusselman I understand that. My husband was the same way. He's gone now so I'm on my own with a cat who doesn't care.

I found taking naps during the day that I cannot sleep at night. I try to stay up as long as I can when tired. I try to find something I can drink that will keep me up.

That is so great that you slept throughout the night. I get that too. I was very tired the other day and I think I slept better too.

My current problem is my bed is the best place for me to elevate my foot but not so easy of a place to mylot although I've been doing it now for about an hour.
I mylot mostly on the recliner but I nap there to either before supper or afterward. I guess I need to get up and do something when I'm getting tired. I'm not sure how well I'll do today but hopefully better than yesterday.
