SURRENDER

Turning situations and people over to God can be one of the scariest feelings. But it is also one of the most liberating conditions for the heart and mind. This time of year is my favorite. I am, daily, reminded that God is in control. No human would ever think of saving a depraved, rebellious, sinful world by an all-powerful, all-knowing God becoming a little baby and then growing up and interacting with those those very same sinful people, all the while remaining completely sinless. If anyone has ever, actually, read a history book and learned about any war or has ever studied, to any degree, the art of war; it becomes evident that wars are won with power, money, and cunning minds. Jesus' birth proves that God does not think as we do. To say "His ways are higher than ours" is not just a religious cliché. He is, absolutely, in control.
So our word for today is SURRENDER. Surrender is a hard thing. In the human realm, it opens us up for abuse, heartache, and injustice. In the spiritual realm, it empowers and frees us because, in the spiritual realm, God is calling the shots. He wants to call the shots in our lives. Although, He could force His will; He does not. He wants us to choose Him and His will.
SURRENDER, for mankind, has to be a daily thing. It is something I want to be a way of life. I want to learn how, to automatically, release problematic and victorious situations to the Father, and allow Him to orchestrate each moment of my life. In doing so, I know He can handle situations and people far better than I.
