Day 122 Promise 581 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If any man defiles the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. You know God is holy. People think about God’s temple as the place they go to for worship. Growing up, I often heard we’re going to God’s house when my parents talked about going to church. Paul told the Corinthians they were the temple of God, God’s house, and He lived in them because they accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. He also told them that anyone who destroyed God’s temple, God would destroy them. You don’t mess with God’s people. Messing with God’s people is messing with God’s temple. As Christians, you know your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. He lives in you and teaches you what you need to know. It isn’t only the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is the temple of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. You are not your own. You belong to Christ and He lives in you. Your body is the temple of God and you need to treat your body as holy because God is holy. Let’s pray: Father, help me be aware that You live in me and my body is Your temple. Help me treat my body as holy because You are holy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Amen! Thanks for sharing this beautiful thought. We are always told that God resides within us in our body. So show respect to other fellow beings and to your own body.

I was taught that the church building was God's house, where God lives. God resides within a believer, within HIS temple(that's not made by hands)

I was taught that too. That's not what Scripture says. We are God's temple. When we go to church, we bring the church with us.

@kobesbuddy Paul said to pray without ceasing. Going through your day, there are so many reasons to pray, not only for the time we live in.

@just4him And some people go to church to be fed. Then, don't take time to study God's Word or pray, any other time. One lady told me, 'I don't have time to read and pray! I have to work a job!'
