This series of favorite songs with “fall” in the title is about to fall off the map, right along with autumn. Look at the bright side: in the northern hemisphere the days only get longer after the start of winter. And speaking of bright, here — to absolutely nobody’s surprise — is the brightest “fall” song on my list.
#1: I Fall to Pieces - Patsy Cline
Well DUH!!!!!!!!!
I don’t have a lot to say, because there’s not a lot to say. It’s Patsy. Listening to her pour out the heartache in the lyrics tells you just why so many people who get physically sick at the mention of the words “country music” still love Patsy..
Also why, 57 years after her death, people still love Patsy.
God bless Patsy Cline.
Thanks for reading.
I Fall to Pieces
Written by Harlan Howard and Hank Cochran
Recorded by Patsy Cline

“I’ve got a head full of feeling higher
And an earful of Patsy Cline
There is just no one who can touch her
Hell, I’ll hang on every line.”
