Pecans Are Healthy and Delicious

Pecans come from an edible tree nut native to Mexico and the Southern states of the US. They grow on a species of hickory tree, and they are closely related to hickory nuts. Regarding their appearance, pecans look slightly like walnuts, but they are smaller in size. The color of these nuts can also vary, with some nuts having a grey to brown shade and others having a reddish-brown coat. Pecans taste mildly sweet and they have a rich, buttery flavor. I enjoy pecans in pies, casseroles, cakes, many foods. Sprinkle on top of waffles, oatmeal, fudge, divinity candy, brownies, and the list goes on and on.

I like all nuts. Walnuts and pecans are my least favorite.

Sprinkle on top of your tongue, then chew! Ooh, I love pecans! (And, being a southerner, they are PEE-cans, not pe-CONS.)

We don´t have them here although we have other kinds of nut. But when I go to the US I always buy a dessert with pecans.

I love pecans, and I specially love them in pies and brownies. My husband's niece is very good in making pies, and I am requesting her to see if she can make pecan pie with a sugar substitute and sugar-free syrup instead of corn syrup. She said she will try and see if the taste will be the same. I told her I am volunteering as a taste tester.

Same here, many uses for these snacks. I have seen sugar-free pecan pie recipes but never tried one.

Pecans are healthy, delicious and expensive here. . Maybe because we import them. Cashew is a lot of affordable here. The price is almost quarter of pecans.

Not really into nuts but my family loves it. So I still add them in my food. Pecans are expensive though. It's more common to use almonds and cashews.
