Big bad . . . wolf?

Nope, not a wolf. Wolves are shy creatures and not native to where I live. It was a coyote that hubby saw meander across the street and head toward the back of our property. It was just about five minutes after I arrived home. No wonder he refused to let Mickey and Tinker go outside.Even though they asked nicely. We have had a number of coyote sightings in our town this year. Welcome to 2020.

I live in a very rural area, and see lots of wildlife from time to time.

That sounds kind of scary to have coyotes roaming about especially if they're hungry

They are not too afraid, and they will come after small pets. I think my two kitties would be smart enough and shy enough to go up the tree.

In general they would not attack humans, unless maybe an unattended small child. I have never heard of it though. They are not as big as wolves.

We do not have these creatures here. For me, I am going to freak out if seeing them up close.

I guess coyotes would be pleased to grab a few cats for a snack.

@GardenGerty Good for your husband to make sure that Mickey and Tinker stay in till the coyote disappears. Since they have been around a lot will you let Mickey and Tinker out again?

They do go in and out all day. They would also find a place to hide as soon as they would see a coyote. They hide from many people and things.

@GardenGerty My cat is not fond of many people coming here when they did before the virus came into our lives so she would hide. Cats are very smart and I believe they would find a place to hide from the coyote until they can get home safe.

I can't blame him. Wild animals can be unpredictable.

The coyote is looking for food. Hopefully it will find something and leave.

Better to keep your kitties inside, I heard that coyotes kill small animals. Wolves are shy but they kill sheep, we have wolves here and they are even a protected species.

@GardenGerty Here wolves are tagged with radio collars, they are incredibly useful for the ecosystem.

We get them on the outskirts of town and your can hear them sometimes. I've worried for the home owners that don't have fences up. You make sure to be careful too.

Coyote is of a dog family, it is not big enough to attack and adult human. It is wild, yes.
