Day 129 Promise 588 2 Corinthians 1:23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth. 24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand. (KJV) People want proof that your cause is good and will benefit them. They look for ways to discount it in favor of another cause. You see it all the time in your workplace, the hobbies or activities you’re involved in, even on the home front. Paul told the people he had nothing to prove because he called God for a record on his soul. Not because he wanted to have authority over the people’s faith, but to help them in their joy. He told them they stood in their faith. As Christians, you know it takes faith to do anything in the body of Christ. It took faith for you to believe in Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Faith is the key to everything you do as a Christian. Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them who preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah said, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. (KJV) What kind of record do you have with God? Do you bring joy to the body? Can you stand in your faith? Or do you need to be built up and nourished in the faith? Reading and studying God’s Word daily builds your faith so you can help others build their faith so they can stand in the faith which brought them salvation. Let’s pray: Father, strengthen my faith.
