When my son picked me up this morning for swimming, he gave me the good news. He's been approved. He picks up his new car today at 4 PM. So, my car is sitting in the parking lot here and will stay there.
He told me with winter being what it is in Wisconsin, he doesn't want me driving it unless the weather is good. He wants me to continue getting my ride to church. He plans to have his car paid for within the year and then he will get me a new car.
He told me I needed new brakes. I hoped it wasn't the case, but I felt it on my way home this morning. So, that will be my next expense for the car.
Still no snow. It's looking very green outside my window. There's a storm for tomorrow, but I haven't seen where it will be within the state. I really hope it's here. Otherwise, I'll be singing a different tune this Christmas. "I'll have a blue Christmas without snow. I'll be so blue thinking about no snow. Decorations of white on a green Christmas tree, won't be the same without snow out there for me. I'll have a blue Christmas, that's certain. And if those gray raindrops start falling, I'll be thinking of you with your Christmas of white, but I'll have a green green Christmas."
I hope you like those improvised lyrics. I'm still hoping for a white Christmas. However, today is December 22. We're firmly in winter now, and I want snow.
I also called the office this morning because I have a handicapped placard until the end of April. She's going to get a work order for me to park close to the door.

I wish you could too. I saw the forecast for tomorrow's storm. Rain. It won't get cold enough to turn to snow. The same for Thursday. It will be colder, but the snow will be north.

@just4him We may be getting rain on Thursday to wash the snow away. Not going out, so it doesn’t matter. I’m worried about my son having to drive to his gf’s house for Christmas Eve.
Sorry you won’t have a while Christmas, but miracles do happen!

@DianneN Yes, miracles do, and I'm praying for one. I'm sorry the rain will wash the snow away. It would be nice to stick around for Christmas at least. Though I know you don't celebrate. I hope your son will be safe on the roads.

That's all good to hear, minus the no snow yet....I hope you get your snow and it stays far from here. We had our big snowstorm last week and I would be glad to see no more!

I think your son is right...for you to limit your driving in the winter. I have the feeling my brakes need work as well as the brake liight keeps coming on. I might try to do something about that when the next round of stiumulus checks comes out.

No white Christmas this year unless the weather changes a lot between now and then. Tomorrow's storm is rain for most of the state. I wish you could too.

Catchy lyrics. It is nice and warming up here, but we are going to have a cold Christma with th high in the middle 40s. For a white christmas here I will have to go to the beach and enjoy the sugar white sand (and there are people who make sandman this time of year out of the sand that almost look like a snowman

Congrats on his new car. So how did it go when he picked up his car? That is so cool that he is going to get you a new car. Since you want snow I hope you get it. I have to find out if places will be open tomorrow because it looks like we may go into a 3rd lockdown.

I read this morning that we are going into a 3rd for two weeks on Sunday at 5 pm. It could change too. I do not see the point because there are those that do not follow rules at all. In my building alone many do not wear masks. I feel that those violating the rules should be put somewhere so they cannot bother the rest of us that do follow them. It is not fair. Have a nice holiday.

Snow? In Wisconsin??? Nah! I was in Milwaukee for Winterfest one year, and there was about six inches of snow overnight. The roads were nice and clear, though. Here, six snowflakes will shut the state down for a month. 
Sorry you need a new car. “Car trouble” is redundant, because if you’ve got a car, you’ve got troubles.
