On Being Kind as Humans

I see it this way. We as humans, the highest form of primate on Earth, should, in theory, be the kindest forms of life and it should be instinctive. The several species of animals on this planet get along with humans but humans do not always get along with those several species of animal. Only knowing the difference between being kind and being as bad as one can be, you know it is not rocket science. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. When I was working at Skaggs Alpha-Beta supermarket, I was instructed by my immediate supervisors, If a customer treats you badly, kill them with kindness. I see Joe Biden as a kind man. He took the higher road. I think we can all expect 2021 to be a prosperous new year because not only will we be getting back the soul of this nation, but we will be getting a better chance at beating this virus. We already know the virus is mutating, but the Pfizer & Moderna vaccines are going to get us through to the other side of a dark year. Be kind to others as you would have them treat you. Instead of looking for ways to argue, find ways to agree and when you find common ground, that is where peace on earth begins. I know we all tend to agree to disagree about politics but the fundamentals in life, no matter what side of the dividing line you stand on, are the fundamentals of human kindness.

Sadly, "the highest form of primate on Earth" can also be the most vicious.

@kobesbuddy Read the article on WIKIPEDIA on infanticide and you'll be shocked. Nowadays people have turned away from infanticide (although it still exists in some societies) and prefer killing grown-ups in organised wars.

Yes,"treat others as how you would like to be treated and live and let live" are well said.

@lookatdesktop Hope the the relations between our two countries begin to thaw after your new president takes office ! "China and the US both stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation."

That is why America & China should in theory get along, especially when Biden takes office. Hopefully, our two nations can work things out in a good and fair way for the future for all concerned. :)

I've always maintained you only need one commandment - the one about treating others as you'd like to be treated.

In most cases, a person is only acting out, how they themselves have been treated while growing up. My sister-in-law Beth screamed like crazy, as a child. Her mother was a chronic screamer! Now, Beth has been married to a gentle soft-spoken man for twenty-five years and she never raises her voice!

I always treat others as I would want to be treated. Always words to live by. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday.

I feel we are our own worst enemy. I am retired now after having worked for 45 years in different countries. Being polite, kind, has given me wonderful returns in terms of fulfillment. I made it a habit as that was the best way to deal with life. We need to agree to disagree and that forms part of freedom that we cherish. The common folks are kind but we need to elect leaders who don't divide us and that has not been easy.
