How Will Biden Provide More Stimulus Checks?

It was reported today that president-elect Joe Biden assured the American people that under his administration people will get more stimulus checks. The question is how? There is another question which I will get to in a second here. But first the question of how. Because we all know that while the House might put forth a bill at the request of Joe Biden, it still has to pass the Senate before anything can be sent up to Biden to be passed into law. I don't think the republican lead Senate is going to do that. So, Biden can assure the American people all day long that he will ask for more stimulus. But that does not mean he will actually get more stimulus. Now the more important question of why? You said you had a plan to END COVID, Mr. Biden. Now, of course you didn't tell anyone what that plan IS, and no one asked you, so no one really knows what the plan is. But, for thinking minds, doesn't the assurance that he will provide MORE stimulus at least remotely say loud and clear that there is no plan? Because if he could end Covid, putting forth this plan he has... We would not NEED more stimulus.

Hmm, good points. Maybe his idea is that the bill trump talked about in nameless's post recently would end up being his to showcase? My husband is still convinced that trump will stay in office after all, but I quit listening to that.

@lovebuglena I would like to see it happen but I think we'd need hearing more in the news if it were more possible.

@MarshaMusselman But most news report what they want us to hear not what's really happening. Or they slant it.

I haven't lost hope yet about Trump remaining in the White House for the next 4 years.

My question is where...? Where is he going to get the money in order to provide this money? What we'll get (if we'll get it) won't be a drop in the bucket as far as taxes go. So where is this magic money supposed to come from? Does he think he's going to ake it from the taxpayers?

With what? Magic? Printing paper money doesn't magically mean we suddenly have more money. Everything's digital these days.@lovebuglena

Ending Covid will take some time. There's a big mess to straighten out so the job facing him will not be solved easily. In the meantime, people are hurting and need help, so he's going to try. Republicans of course can be uncooperative. They're pretty good at that. Did it all through the Obama administration. But he'll at least try. We'll see how the Senate goes. There's still the Georgia election results to consider also.

When you have a president who wants to destroy the country, it is good to have good minded, well thinking uncooperative grown ups in place to avoid that. There is a big difference between the republicans having blocked horribly damaging policies and democrats simply not wanting a successful president who was accomplishing things to succeed.

His plan to combat or end covid was probably insisting (is that even the right word?) that people wear masks for 100 days once he gets into office. And potentially shutting down the country, which will not result in anything good. And he talked about a "dark winter." He has no real plan to end covid. And I am not sure he has any real plan for this country either. What is he planning to accomplish in the next four years? How is he gonna help this country or its people? I, for one, have no idea. And I am assuming neither does a huge chunk of the American population.

@porwest He did say he will reverse the things that Trump has done. Hopefully, that will not happen. Shutting things down does nothing good for the economy... or the country. If numbers are potentially on the rise only when we are not in quarantine or in shut down we can't just remain in quarantine or total shutdown forever. There has to be another solution. Yes, we've lost a lot of people due to covid but the survival rate is 99.xx% (forget the exact number) for covid anyway. And from what I remember seeing the total number of deaths in this country is less than what it was in precious years, even with covid deaths included. Life shouldn't have to stop because of covid, especially since it will not be leaving us any time soon. If not covid, we will have some other similar thing, and we kinda already do with the new strain of covid. Forgot its name.

@lovebuglena Whenever I think of the shut downs I keep going back to what we DIDN'T shut down, and I question what is the difference if I go out and get toilet paper and eggs or sit down and have a hamburger? I know they tried to put out the "essential vs. non essential" thing, but on the whole the whole thing just doesn't make sense. Especially since it was largely the left who encouraged the shut downs. Those, on the left, who say they are out there looking our for the interests of the little guy... And yet, the ones who got hurt the most are the little guys.

I tend to agree with you. He has talked a lot about a mask mandate, and I think that's not a solution or even anything new since we have already been wearing them. How does his mandate "end covid?" We have also shut down the country, and that didn't seem to work or help either (other than it devastated the lives of many hard working Americans and small business owners). AND on top of everything else he says we need to reverse what Trump did, which makes no sense since most of what Trump did worked, especially in terms of the economy. So...it's really a huge question mark for me what his intentions are, if he has any of course, other than to kill jobs, kill businesses, kill the economy, and send us all back to the dark ages.

@NJChicaa You are AGAIN skirting the whole issue here. Biden said he WOULD. He said he had a plan to do it. You believed him because you voted for him. You ALSO screamed to high heavens that Trump had no plan—even though he did. You took Biden at his word that he would FIX this, and completely ignored Trump when he said he would do his best.

@hardtimes1958 You are failing to understand how the mind of the left works. The left will shout as loud as they can, "FAILURE! IDIOT! MORON! YOU AREN'T DOING ENOUGH! GET IT DONE! GET ON WITH IT ALREADY YOU FOOL!" And then when their guy is at the helm they simply shrug their shoulders and say, "Well, he can't just wave a magic wand, you know. Give the poor guy a break."
