Downtown Song Was Playing

Many of you are probably tired of reading about the Nashville explosion. But it has many of us in the area wanting answers. We may never get them. But many clues are coming out every day. Today a news conference was held with the six responding police officers. They described the scene in more details than the others. The RV had surveillance cameras all around it. Blinds covering the windows when they arrived. The recording from inside the RV started right after they arrived. Giving them time to evacuate. Then, the song below would play for a few minutes. This song is called Downtown. And old 1960s song. The lyrics are creepy when you think that the bomber chose to play it on the recording. Maybe leaving clues behind of his mindset at the time. A lonely man. A few of the lyrics: When you're alone and life is making you lonely You can always go downtown A sad day in Nashville. Several blocks downtown has major structural damage. Many are homeless. Businesses gone. They will all rebuild eventually. And still thankful no lives were lost. Probably the bomber, but that will be confirmed later. He also signed over his lifetime home as well as a second home to a 29 y/o lady for free. He was planning this for while it seems.

It seems that it was well planned by him. Too bad he took his problems out on the city.

That seems to happen often. Thank goodness nobody else was killed.

That is really twisted that they chose that particular song to play along with the warning.

I know, every day more and more clues are coming out. He gave away two homes to a lady in California for free in November 2020.

it is a featured song in one of my favorite musicals (Little Shop of Horrors). So sad, sorry this has to be disconcerting. DC has had many issues in the last 8 years, each one is jarring./

I just hope in a month it'll still read the same @CarolDM So often the facts are confusing to the investigators then a month down the road they finally have the real information.

"Anthony Warner is the bomber, he was present when the bomb went off and he perished in the bombing", US Attorney Cochran said 15 minutes ago.

I've chosen not to learn a lot about the incident. I am so glad that no lives were lost but it hurts my heart that a man did this and it does make me want to know why.

It's all so sad. I feel sorry that he was not able to get or did not try to get the help that he so desperately needed and ended up doing so much damage to others' businesses, etc.

I'm sure Petula Clark never had such an outcome in mind when she recorded the song. I used to love that song, it now has a different meaning.
