The chipmunk has arrived and our weather

Early this morning I realized I had a headache. Sometimes coffee helps so I began having my morning cup or two of coffee. Now I realized a chipmunk has invaded my cheeks and sinuses meaning it's definitely a sinus headache. Coffee while good does nothing for sinus headaches. We knew inclement weather might be headed our way but I'm not always affected by the forecast no matter how bad. Until today. We were supposed to get ice by noon today and then it was going to snow again. I intended to go outside to put a tarp on my windshield because my wipers are under the hood and the defrost doesn't warm that area up enough. I was also going to lift my husband wipers to eliminate his getting stuck as we both work tomorrow. But the ice came earlier than we expected it. I went out an hour ago and was able to lift his wipers but my van has ice all the way around it so I did put more salt down so later I can try to free my wipers before the next storm comes in. And I'll cover that area to eliminate them freezing up again. We have mixed precipitation headed our way quitting by early morning. We're getting rain then snow then more rain. If I don't get my windshield and wipers covered I might be late to work. Not on purpose though.

Yikes. What will the roads be like? I hope your sinuses feel better soon.

My sinuses are already better. The roads might be awful so I'll leave earlier than normal and take a less traveled street to be safer.

@MarshaMusselman I hope it all worked out. I can take gravel roads if the highways are slippery.

i don't 'nvy ya all that ice, but 't this point'd take moisture any way such fell. i'm 'hind so read through some other responses 'n learnt ya made 't safely to work 'n home 'gain. purty sure my windshield wipers 've dry-rotted 'gain. i dunno why they charge so much fer 'em these days? they don't last 'round here more'n 9 months, 'n that's with 'em ne'er bein' used.

@MarshaMusselman i confess i 'twas most shocked they sell 'em 's singles these days. i reckon such shows they know such's crappy quality. they used to last 't least 3 years out here. spendy lil suckers...ought'a come with 't least a 2yr warranty. congrats'n yer sunshine! we've sunshine, but with high winds 's fronts jest keep comin'. fingers crossed fer some moisture with the one comin' this weekend. the u.s. puter models says nope, nada. the european though 'tis sayin' 6-12" 'f fluffy schtuff. we soooo need the moisture!

@crazyhorseladycx mine broke I'm sure because of ice going out to my windshield. I didn't run the motor before getting it unstuck but I may have torn it myself getting the scraper underneath the wiper blade.

I don't know if I said this already but I just put a new wiper on one side and it's already ripped. But I'm waiting a bit before replacing it again. We're getting sun shine most of the week so I'm hoping it will melt some of the ice that's in the cars tracks the rest is mainly snow.

Ice can be so dangerous. Stay safe if you go out. Good luck with the sinus issues. We have 70 degrees today. Crazy weather.
