In finding Christ, what would you offer?

Today is the Solemnity of the Epiphany. The Gospel has it three magi, or wise men, followed a star to Bethlehem where, according to the Scriptures, in the land of Judea, 'a Child will be born, a Son be given to rule us.' The magi did see the Child and offered Him gold, for kingship, frankincense, for divinity, and myrrh, for pain in suffering. The magi must have thought about what fitting gifts to bring the Holy Child. If you are to find Christ, what gift would you offer?

You know, I don't know. I guess it'd spend on how I felt at the time or what I felt I could offer.

Perhaps we could ponder now what gift to offer. It's a year that the gifted are called to give.

@LadyDuck We couldn't complain. We still have a 9 January Traslacion of the Black Nazarene - a procession packed by millions of devotees from the Basilica Minore de Nazareno Negro to the Manila's premiere park and back. Then, on the third Sunday of January, we have 'Viva Pit Senyor' in an annual road dance festival called 'Sinulog' - to honor the Santo Niño at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu . “Sinulog” means “graceful river dance” as the 'sulog' means 'river current' in Cebuano. Even if we live far from these places, we celebrate the festivities in our respective parishes.

@eileenleyva No public events here, we are in total lockdown until the 22nd of January, we have seen how many have been contaminated after religious events. We had the Carnival before Lent but it has also been cancelled to avoid more contamination... I hope your government will stop those celebrations too.

@eileenleyva Many countries decided to move the real date of Epiphany on the "closest Sunday", Italy did the same, but people complained so much that now it is celebrated again on its real date, the 6th of January. We also celebrate the 6th here in the South... Wednesday is a holiday.

That is so selfless. The gift of self - being our Lord's little helper, wow!
