Cousin Has Been Admitted Again

My cousin finally came home on December 23rd, after 6 weeks in the hospital with COVID. She came home with a catheter and oxygen. Also in a wheelchair until she gets her strength back. She went to the ER yesterday and they admitted her for an infection. Kidney infection is all they have found so far. But a slight fever as well. COVID can be so hard to recover from for many patients. She has had a difficult time and I hope she will be back home again soon. Nothing to take lightly for sure.

Yes it is, I felt so sorry while talking to her. I hope she comes home soon. Can someone tell @Maluse she has me blocked. I cannot read her comment.

Sorry to hear that. I survived it and did not go through what you are describing happening with your cousin. It was tough enough to be confined for 2 weeks. But after that l was able to recover for a month of rest.

@CarolDM Yeah l guess so. My wife’s cousin also had it and in days his case worsened in a matter of days. He is now in ICU already.

@rebelann She was there six weeks. Discharged with home health nurses to take care of her.

Kidney infections are easy to get when you have a catheter. That might be the fever cause also. Hope they get it cleared up and she gets better.

I am so sorry to hear this. Hope she recovers and know how worried you must be. Once they get the infection cleared I hope she feels enormously better and doesn't suffer any more hardships caused by covid. Enough is enough.

It's hit her hard for sure. There seems to be so much variation with this disease, some people hardly notice and others are really badly affected, even people who are relatively young and really fit and healthy. I hope she is able to get over it.

Yes it did. I hop she recovers soon. She has asthma as well. That didn't help her breathing issues.
