Hi all! How did you celebrate? I hope whatever you did you were safe, healthy and happy. My momma came over for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, it was nice, fun. We managed to stay up until midnight, and didn't indulge in any alcoholic beverages at least on new year's eve because we both wanted to stay up and not be too sleepy. Ha ha! Bunch of party animals we are. We got to order out on New Year's day, got Chinese food, that was fun. We got 4 fortune cookies and 3 out of 4 of them had the fortune in the picture , So I would like to think that is a great sign. Goals for 2021? Well, I guess mostly I want life to get back to normal. I hope the vaccine hurries up ends the pandemic. Even just the common things would be so nice. Dance practice with friends... in person. Go to a restaurant, sit inside. See a movie. Go see live music. I hope things like fairs will be safe too. Maybe, even go on vacation or day trips. Other than that, continue with dance in various forms, find a band to play with and continue with radio. How about you? How did you celebrate? Do you have any goals and hopes for 2021? Photo: Mine

My husband wound up working both New Years Eve and New Years day. So he went to bed before Midnight, or rather that'd been his goal. We actually lost track of time so I didn't get around to cooking until a little after 11, and we were still eating after midnight because time.... In fact, we didn't watch the ball drop because we decided to finish a Christmas movie instead. And, it wasn't until we were finishing up I checked my watch and realized, wow.... it's after midnight LOL.

Nothing wrong with that at all. What does your husband do? It was really weird watching at Times Square and some of the other locations being so empty of people

Spent a Korean-themed NYE celebration. Slept much of January 1. Not much happened to me.

You know, I'm still waiting for you to move to Oklahoma. We would have so much fun. I didn't do much on New Years Eve or New Years Day. I think I watched a Christmas movie I still had on my DVR. I'm going to Branson, Missouri in March if Covid doesn't ruin it. My friend is supposed to come with me, but she is crazy worried about getting it. Funny thing is, she has access to the vaccine, but won't get it. I'd do it in a minute. My dad just went yo Branson for a night, and he said masks are mandatory, and social distancing is strictly enforced.

We would have a blast, wouldn't we? You're awesome. Aw nice enjoy Branson. (Safely of course) Sorry about your friend. I wish for her sake she would just get the vaccine. I'm getting it as soon as it's available to me, too. Good on them for enforcing the distancing. That's probably why they are open. We here are just down again.

I watched a live Earth Cam feed from Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Pretty subdued. Got my freedom and went to a park yesterday.

Oh interesting - we watched ABC and they put the newsfeed on New Orleans too. I didn't mind, but I was expecting to see a re-broadcast of New York like usual. It was odd to see those landmarks so desolated. Hope you enjoyed your walk

We were asleep by 11:30 new years eve. Didn't have any black eyed peas to cook the next day, so I cooked pinto beans instead. Like you and probably every soul on the planet, I'm so looking forward to a world without covid.

@FayeHazel Black eyed peas are yummy when cooked with ham, salt and pepper, and onion.

@1creekgirl Hmmm interesting. Is it more like a green pea? or a bean?

Ooo I don't think I've had black eye peas before. What are they like? Pinto beans are good. Ah yes. Pandemic cannot be over soon enough for my tastes!

Happy New Year to you No, I just want to earn more money. Been researching for more ways now. Unrelated, the heck with the random Chinese word? All of a sudden, you learning how to spell dormitory in Chinese.

Thanks! To you too and much luck in earning more money. I hope you have found some ways. Ha! I know, right? Most of the fortune cookies come with a "learn Chinese" word. I'm looking at soe of the fortunes right now and other Chinese words I have are Tone (Seng-diao), and Bookstore (Shu-dian) - I always sort of wished they would put more practical words like maybe - hi, please, thank you, how much?, where?, When? and so on lol

We stayed home safe and sound, had a lovely dinner, watched TV, watched the ball drop, talked to the kids, and went to bed. We were content, but it was quite different from our usual celebrations. Here's to 2021!

I had a glass of Californian red and listened to classic 70s. There were so many fireworks, until after one, that I almost put on my headphones.
