Do You Make Your Own Hot Chocolate From Scratch??

My mom always did and it is making me think back to how it tasted. I don't even know what made me think about it but making it this afternoon is on my to do list for today. Nothing out of a can... and it's going to me by own recipe...
Okay, I might have to peek at a recipe to get the right ingredients gathered, but I plan on adding some extra little things to make it my own.
Now tell me about your hot chocolate!!

Well, we did make cocoa from scratch with the milk and the cocoa powder, and sugar. How did she make her hot chocolate?

@snowy22315 which makes me wonder because Nanny had a cake recipe that no one thought to ask her how she made. No one has been able to figure it out to this day. It was just referred to as Cake and Dip... I don't know if Mom always meant to tell us lol... but life got in the way when we all moved into our own homes??

That's the thing... she would never tell us what she added to it but she always laughed when she mentioned it.

My mom would make hers when we were all sitting around the TV at night... can still taste it!!

'tis from scratch. used to make a 3 quart thingy 'f 't coz folks'd jest consume the dickens out'ta 't. i miss havin' the family 'round, 've not made such'n many years. can't tell ya the 'secret' 'ngredients though. ya know, coz then 't'd not be a secret. best 'f luck gettin' yers figured :)

Dark chocolate is pretty darn close ;) If you could make hot chocolate taste that good you would be on to something!

Never had it from scratch. But I bought some peppermint hot chocolate K cups for my Sunday school class and this Sunday I had a cup of it.

Now that sounds pretty good. I always wondered if Mom used peppermint... but I don't think so... but it is coming to mind.???
