I Found the Culprit: Would You Like To Know It?

Two of my discussions were about an 8-year-old student who kept on failing my performance evaluation in teaching online these past few days. I squeezed all the juices of my brain to solve it. Before my class with this student, I suddenly remembered that I can contact her mom in QQ. I informed her about what's the issue. There is no need to go around the bush. Guess what? The culprit is the granny of this child. She was the one who is babysitting him these past few days and influenced him to fail me. To cut it short, I got a good evaluation tonight. Thus, it solved my dilemma. Do you take time to think about solving a problem or problems? Are you into rush decisions? Image Credit: smilesforall.com

Good job! I was concerned about what you could/were going to do about the student. I'm glad the solution was finally found!

Actually, I am planning to have an absence from his class. At the last minute, I was able to contact her mom, which is a desperate move.

@DaddyEvil The reason is that we cannot contact our students directly. It happens that I was able to get her QQ account before. Solving this issue should be the company doing it and It shouldn't be me and the other teachers/ That's how bad this company in terms of solving such a problem with the student.

@Shavkat Yes, I read that. Why was it a desperation move? (I would think it would be normal for you to contact a student's parents if they were having trouble in your class.)

Glad you got this sorted out. I'd drop the student unless I got word from the mother that the grandmother will not be meddling in how I handle classes. Just my two cents.

@Shavkat you are caught between a rock and a hard place. Best to just keep an eye on the evaluations from that student. Also, it will be good if you can inform your manager or supervisor about it so they will take that into consideration when reviewing evaluations from that student.

@allen0187 The company's staff are dummies. They just do not care.Once this pandemic over, I will try to find a new company to work with.

I cannot drop the student because it is not allowed. The only thing that I can do is to be absent, but it will still affect performance based on the company's standard rules, which I think is not fair.

Why did not you ask his mother immediately when you had the problem?

I thought that they were with the kid in the house in every class with him. I just only found out that they are working in another city.

I hope they will not do it again. It does affect my performance evaluations. Thus, the possible good students will not be able to see my profile.

I think the company should change its policy and do away with this assessment of a teacher by their students going by it is not always students that assess.

These are old issues and the company doesn't listen. For them, money talks. I must say that they lack social responsibility for ignoring these things.

So the grand ma was saying that is bs or teaching how they teach people to be Trump here. It is a dilemma when people teach that way. I mean let people decide but when forced that is not teaching that is brain washing. It can become a cult and gets super dangerous.

You can say that. Some people are tickle-minded and thirsty with special attention. In fact, they are just creating their own ghosts.

In my opinion, she is in a state of regression. Perhaps she wants to have a class with me. I really don't have any ideas about why she is doing it.

@MALUSE Yes, I think she wants to learn some lessons with me instead of the child. I just assuming it. I cannot really understand why she is making this.

On some occasions, if the parents are with the student, I call their attention. They should be good role models for their kids.
