Crocheted Pocket Scarf

United States
January 16, 2021 3:36pm CST
I want to say this took me three days to complete. It uses the double crochet stitch and the.. Uhm.. Well actually, I'm not sure what the other stitch is called but it involves double crocheting over two other double crochets. I want to make another one of these but in a thicker yarn, maybe a bulky weight. This was a 3 weight yarn. Some people asked to see it when it was completed. It's completed with the exception of weaving in my ends.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The colors aren't bad together it looks really nice. It takes practice and the more you do it the better you will get.

I don't know how to color control, but I unintentionally did so with this project. There is a little overlap of colors in the rows, but most of each row has the same color throughout. I love this yarn and am going to have to get more of it. Thanks!

@Blondie2222 Might have to watch a few videos on color control and I definitely need to up my game on joining techniques.

@ShyBear88 I heard about the 65 cent clearance walmart had. I didn't go to walmart to see if they had it though.

Thanks! I've recently heard that Ollie's has Red Heart with Love yarn at a good price. I'm not sure how long that will last though. I'm not sure when I'll get down there either.

@kaylachan Right. I will probably layer this with a hoodie or jacket anyway so I don't need it to be too warm.

Thank you. I have two friends that really like it also so I might have to go get another of this yarn (I have one already) and make it for them as a surprise.

Just think of a circle. Well a double crochet is three circles on top of each other basically. Thank you!

@ScribbledAdNauseum It looks good to me...I would do it..even if you don't make a fortune, it should cover all your yarn costs at least. Who knows,? maybe you will make a killing

@snowy22315 I need a better understanding of how etsy's fees are structured before I really decide, but covering the cost of my yarn would be a plus.

Not yet. I've tossed around the idea of opening one, but I want to get a little more confident with my crocheting and especially the weaving in ends. I bought two yarn cakes of this color because it was so pretty. I'm not sure what I'll make with the other one.

That's really neat! Sorry for this dumb question, what's the pocket for?

Your hands, mostly. At least, that is what I intend to do with this one. When / if I make it out of a thicker yarn, I'll feel more comfortable putting my cellphone in it, or keys or chapstick.

@CarolDM Absolutely. I don't think I would have learned crochet without it.
