Yarn Basket

That is, a basket made out of yarn and not a basket full of yarn.
Let me explain why, the very first time I saw this pattern, I was intimidated. I.. DID try it, but I was still fairly new to crocheting and trying to control three strands of yarn at the same time was daunting. That and seaming.
I'm not... I'm not over the moon with this one because I had to do a bit of improvisation, but I still like it. It now holds some of my wax melts and is doing a better job of standing up the way it's supposed to.
Three strands of yarn held together. One purple, one white, and one a variegated purple / blueish, white and pink make up this basket. The pattern is simple, 24 rows of single crochet and then you tie off, weave in ends (but I couldn't because I need a bigger yarn needle) and then create six rows of single crochet to form the sides.

Yes, I see where it looks like that. It's just the way it was bowing.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have seen nice videos to make home slippers on YouTube, I should try.

@LadyDuck I think there may be free patterns on ravlery as well, for slippers.

@Tina30219 Will take a picture of it, not sure if I'll have it online today or not though. Probably get off earlier today since I've accomplished so much already.

I'm going to make that today. I might make handles for that one, not sure.

It looks like the soul of a shoe or slipper, pretty colors though.

I can see that. The part that was dipping in now sort of flairs out a bit. I have nine clamshell packets in the thing now.

Good for you. I was never good at chrocheting.

My mom was the very best. She made lots of good money doing it.

I hope so. I saw a Sherlock Holmes doll that I really want to make.

@LindaOHio I think I can too, just need to get the yarn for it. I need to try to find a watson doll too.

@CarolDM It's truly a relaxing activity for me. It helps clear my mind and I rarely feel stressed with a crochet hook in hand.

When I first saw it I thought it was the base for a slipper! I have attempted slippers in the past and they didn't come out well. I would never try a basket. You are brave!

I was considering a slipper yesterday but I didn't because I feel like I'd mess that up & I didn't have soft enough yarn for it.
I think this one was easier to do then some of the others which is crocheting in the round. I'm getting better at crocheting in the round but it's still slightly difficult for me. I need better stitch markers too.
