The pair that isn’t a pair

I posted a few days ago about the new gloves I started making. I chose the yarn because I liked the blend of colours - you can see it here https://www.mylot.com/post/3422077/my-new-project I finished knitting one glove and that came out quite bright. Then I went on to the next and, as it turns out, that has come out in much more muted colours. It just happens that the way the colours change, with a stretch of brighter colours alternating with more muted tones, happens to coincide exactly with the amount needed to knit one glove. So now I have a pair that don’t look like a pair at all lol! I can see that the yarn is just coming up to the bright section again now that I’ve finished! I think I might continue and make a second pair the opposite way around to the first, so I will end up with one bright pair and one more muted pair - as long as I get the hands the right way around and don’t accidentally get two right hands in one set of colours and two left hands in the other set! That's pretty funny but I can understand it happening. And you're correct - you'll need to make sure you have a pair of each shade.

Oh wow. Well, knowing what you do now, you could easily make a second pair out of the same yarn. Hope that works out as you want it to.

There's plenty of yarn left, and they don't take too long to make.

They look good. I'm sure you can get the second pair so they come out right.

Wow, those really do look different, What material is the yarn? My daughter loves that kind of open finger gloves. So pretty.

@Fleura I don't suppose you make them on commission?

@BelleStarr Seriously? I'd be happy to make more, just whenever I get the time, I'd rather not promise anything to an imminent deadline!

I would surely make a second pair the opposite, so you will have two pairs that are pairs.

That's certainly true, they are a one-off. I have started another anyway. That way I can mix and match!
