It was just announced that Biden will fight coronavirus with a slew of orders. By the way, "slew" was the media's choice of word. Not mine. Sure, he says it will still take months to get "on track," but honestly folks...
What are these orders really going to do?
Another question. Is there anything new or fresh or more aggressive in these orders than the Trump administration's were?
Nope.
But when this thing is over, Biden will be hailed as the man who conquered the evil beast we call Covid.
People please.
He says he will ramp up delivery of vaccines. Mr. President, had Trump not MADE the vaccines POSSIBLE you would have nothing to ramp up.
He says he will order mask wearing. Will someone please tell the president we have been wearing masks for the past 9 months!
He says he will deploy the Defense Production Act to make more supplies available. Umm, Mr. President...Trump already did this...in fact SEVERAL TIMES.
I could go on. But why bother? In the minds of some Biden is their Knight In Shining Armor, and nothing could get them to stop doing the silly dance for a second to think about what they are actually thinking about...
Which I don't think is much, by the way...that they are thinking about.
All I hear are cavemen chanting in their caveman voices...
Trump bad. Biden good. Biden fix all.

I only wear a mask to go to the store or take a bus or subway and I do that only because they won't let you in otherwise.

@thislittlepennyearns According to the order, the mask mandate is a federal mandate, meaning it would be a "law" until someone says it is not.

@porwest @lovebuglena Actually he mandated on federal property, lol. Laughing because it is already mandated on federal property he just now wants every one to actually follow the mandate. Whatever
BUT and here it is, he intends making individual state governors and mayors and other law enforcement mandate it in their own states and carry through. So....

It's the typical right vs left. The Republicans and Dems have been at each other's throats for as long as I can remember, perhaps before I was even born. Even when a President does well, only those loyal to him are going to see it. So, since the "orders" come from the left, the Dems, those people are happy, while the rest of us are thinking.... are you stupid?
Ramping up a Vaccine that hasn't been put through enough trials is going to kill people, but it'll be COVID'S fault, or people 'not wearing masks'.
All the "mask order" does, is giving police the power to fine people for not wearing them, but that's not going to happen in states where they aren't already doing it. Police have better things to do, then potorl the city, and decide if if not wearing a mask falls under the guidelines. Because you don't have to wear a mask if: You have a medical condition that makes wearing a mask dangerous for you. If you're in an open area where you can socially distance If you're a child two years or younger. The CDC doesn't recommend wearing masks in doctor's officers hospitals. Especially the paper-thin or cloth masks the bulk of Americans have access to. There were warnings printed on the package that the one my insurance company , yes, you heard me, the insurance company sent me.
So.... really? Trump has done this and more. What makes you so special? Oh right.... you're the left's puppet.

@porwest That's what I want to believe and hope. I love our country and would hate to see it crumble. However, that's what happened this year alone. 2021 isn't off to the best of starts, we're not even a month in. And, we've got four years of this? scarry.

The silver lining is that there are people out there, like you and I and countless others who can see past the BS, and actually see the truth. Who can actually ACKNOWLEDGE the truth. It may be the ONLY thing that can truly save a nation that right now is in serious peril. There just has to be ENOUGH of us to save a dying nation.
Only time will tell if it CAN be saved.

@kaylachan All I can say is that I did my part and I voted against this scourge. But nonetheless, the scourge got elected and now all we can do is cross our fingers and hope he doesn't do irreversible damage.

A puppet is what he is. Someone else is pulling the strings. Trust me. And there is still a bigger plan developing in the background that is well underway. Just wait. It's coming. I don't think the American people who voted for Biden have a CLUE what they actually voted for...
And trust me, they are not going to like what is coming at all.

First day on the job and he already signed executive orders that will undo what Trump had done like rejoin the Paris Climate Accords... What the heck is the rush?
The mask mandate is for buses, trains, planes, and to go into federal buildings and the like, no? It's not for everyone to wear masks all the time, everywhere, right? Regardless, we've already been required to do for most of last year.

@lovebuglena You are absolutely correct. I do know individual businesses have the right to mandate whatever rules they want, including masks. And yes, we have been wearing masks, by individual mandate, for about 9 months at least.
As for the Paris Accord, I implore EVERYONE to actually read what it says. It is a big, fat nothing. It costs a ton of money, and expects (IF people do what they say) to reduce the temperature by 1/10th of a degree at a cost to American tax payers of about $6.5 billion.

@MarshaMusselman Unfortunately the thing most people are missing is the fact that "masks do not work to stop the spread of the virus." Because we have all been wearing masks for better than 9 months now and the spread of the virus has gotten worse. Not better.

Biden is gonna take credit for things that Trump had already done and the media will probably portray Biden as the hero. Even when he undoes the great things that Trump had done.

I try my darndest not to belittle or deride. I call these "little jabs supported in some facts." Therefore, I consider these to be "supported comments," which I think are different than just outright name calling and insults. I'd call the caveman analogy, in this case, accurate.

In my country it is mandatory to wear masks. Of course I don´t wear them at home as I live alone. I wish the covid would go away. If it does, I would not care who did this or that. No need to call anyone cavemen.

After all of the downright mean, low down and dirty comments that continue to be lodged at Trump, I think "cavemen" is slight compared. And, as I pointed out in an earlier comment, there is difference between just simply calling someone a moron without supportive commentary as to how you got there and what I did, which was to outline the ridiculousness and THEN make the assertion.

Yes you're true in all the things. But the mandate is for 100 days for travel or for federal buildings. They are those who oppose and won't wear masks. He also wants to do a lot of other things. So give him a chance to undo what Trump did wrong.

@porwest Biden wants to undo Trump's border wall for starters by taking it down. He wants to enter the peace treaty agreement that weren't a part of during Trump's years. Don't get me started as I do refrain from talking politics here. I was never a fan for Trump and never voted for him. He has no business in politics. And now he'll be impeached and probably get convicted.

give him a chance to undo what Trump did wrong.
@KristenH First of all, I don't think you know what Trump did right. Furthermore, I don't think you know what Trump did at all. Why? Because your statement points to that.
You might be surprised to know that Trump almost immediately, BEFORE the height of pandemic in March, began taking action and implementing measures in January. Two months before we had any idea as to the seriousness of Covid. You will also know that in the 12 month period between January and December of last year Trump took MANY measures to combat Covid including introducing Operation Warp Speed to streamline the FDA approval process to get vaccines out sooner rather than later, AND funded tens of billions of dollars to researchers to get vaccines put together and readied for distribution.
There is a long, long list of things Trump did.
As for giving Biden a chance. Come on. I have heard this SOOO many times since Biden's election, and all of it coming from people who never gave Trump a chance from day one, and who also discounted and criticized, and derided him for every single action he ever took...
Even when those actions were overwhelmingly good.
President Trump lowered corporate taxes and taxes for all Americans, and for that the economy was boosted enormously. There were more jobs than workers to fill them. People, after corporations got huge tax breaks, got bonuses upwards of $1000 and more, and many even received pay increases as a result of that.
Median income under Trump was up $5000.
We had the lowest black, Hispanic, and women unemployment numbers in history. We went from 1.2% GDP under Obama to nearly 5% under Trump. Consumer confidence was up BIG TIME.
We stopped Iran from going nuclear. We stopped North Korea from going nuclear. We all but eradicated ISIS, helping to provide some stability to Middle East nations. Three major Middle East countries FINALLY recognized Israel as a sovereign state, also relieving tensions in the region and providing more protection and support to the people of Israel.
I am not sure what wrongs Biden wants to undo. By all measures, if Biden undoes what Trump did, all he is undoing is success and replacing it with disaster.

If Biden goes to the left to appease his voters, what will likely happen is that the mid term elections will have the Republicans take over Congress and the Senate. Biden will find out that he is walking into a hornet's nest of trouble with his own party and rivals.

That is the part that confuses me. Trump tried too, and there are mountains of plans he implemented to make an effort, none of which he received credit for, none of which he was praised for, none of which he was appreciated for...
Instead he was chastised, derided, called a moron, and whatever else you want to add to that.
I know everyone wants sudden civility and acceptance now that Biden is president. But after the last four years? After all the BS of the last four years?
The left can suck my shorts. The time for civility and acceptance and "let's just give the guy a chance" has came and went long ago.

@Nakitakona That's the point though. America was not sick. It was healed. Biden is only reopening the wound because he wants an unhealthy America. That's all democrats ever want. Poor people with their hand out so they can control everyone's life.
They don't want people successful. Successful people don't need them to give them something to hold their power over the people.
So, they want us all in chains.
