They've been here--maybe five hours?

They got here a little before noon, and it's three-eighteen by my computer clock, so now--a bit less than four hours.
"They" are my brother and oldest nephew. they've been ripping up carpet and (for some reason men like to do this kind of thing) busting up old furniture with a sledgehammer and taking them apart/taking the pieces out to the dumpster that arrived this morning.
When they ripped up the carpet in the family room, I saw tile that I think I haven't seen since 1979--maybe earlier. Come to think of it--it was probably 1974, when we moved into this house.
Angel started out in the family room, but the louder things got, the more "upset" she got, so she went to her "safe" spot on my bed.
It's certainly going to be weird living in this house for a while....

Is this something you wanted them to do ? I'm sure it will look nice whenever it is completed though.

@xstitcher Oh okay, it will look brand new then once their finished. Hopefully you won't have to deal with the noise/echo for too long.

It's something my brother's wanted to do since our Mom passed away. The house was built in the late '60's, so it needs a lot of work. One of these days I am going to get a smaller place and we will rent this house out.

That looks like a lot of work. I am sure it is a bit unsettling.

It's certainly weird--there's an echo in the house, now.
