My slow cooker has died !

A couple if weeks ago we bought a new slow cooker. Today I was going to use it for the first time ... I got all the ingredients ready ...stewing steak...carrots...pearl barley. Onions and stock... Placed them all in the slow cooker and switched it to high. The light came on. I made soup in my soup maker for lunch and by that time the stew should have been ready to turn down to medium. I looked at it ...nothing had happened. It was warm ...that was all. I left it a while longer. Still nothing So I had to transfer it to a casserole dish and place it in the oven. On closer inspection the inner pot is not sitting right.. it is wonky ! The slow cooker will be returned.
