Have to Cut it Off

I’m only referring to my hair, so don’t worry! Hubs likes my hair long, chin length, in between, piled high, up, down, curly, straight, or short, but not as short as a man’s hair. In short, he likes how I look no matter what. However, he shocked me yesterday when he told me that my hair is too long. It hasn’t been cut since March 17, 2020. He said that it covers my face. Meanwhile, hubs told me it looks better if I put one side behind an ear or spray it off my face. He has a long wait until I cut it. I’m not stepping foot into my hairdresser’s salon until I think it’s safe. Do you blame me?

No don't blame you. Yvonne has not been to a hairdresser since Dec 19.

Good for her. I was pushing it with the virus just beginning in Florida when I went to the hairdresser. That was my last outing.

I haven't gotten my haircut since about January 2020 . . . I totally miss my short asymmetrical haircut! By now it's well past my shoulders . . . but most days I have it up in a claw clip or high ponytail. I'm with you there . . . I'm not going into a salon for a long while yet!

@DianneN Thank you, it looks "ok" but not particularly stylish . . . I am lucky I at least have some wave to my hair. I don't color, so the short, asymmetrical style made the salt and pepper look hip and bold. But now that it's longer, it just looks meh. Actually the grow out is a bit asymmetrical still, but it evened up mostly . . . I keep it up, so no one can tell anyway .

I’m sure your hair looks gorgeous even without the short, asymmetrical cut. Did it grow out asymmetrical, too? Our day will come when we will be able to return to a salon. I am willing to wait, even if I look like Rapunzel.

I think you are wise to be so cautious. I don’t think this photo shows how long your hair is though as to me this looks like the length you usually keep it. My hair is really long down to my belly button I think. I don’t feel up to standing up to see just how long though.

@DianneN wow your hair grows fast . Probably due to how healthy you eat. Mines getting thicker from the prenatal vitamins which is nice as it’s been so fine since my adult years started.

@shaggin My hair and nails do grow fast. Too fast. Those vitamins must have given you a glorious, thick, head of hair. Crowning glory!

There's plenty you can do with long hair withgout cutting it, isn't there? I'm sure you look attractive however you wear it. I had my hairdresser come to my house in July when it looked like we were beating the virus. Haven't been able to have her since.

Thanks, that’s an old photo. My hair is down to my chest now. The weight keeps it fairly straight as well as the very low humidity. Smart to avoid risking our lives for a haircut.

I spray it away from my face now to give it a bit of lift off my face, and hubs likes it much better. He just walked by and gave me a kiss on the top of my head. It's not worth getting Covid for a haircut.

@Tampa_girl7 That’s nice. Hubs is afraid he’d ruin my hair, silly guy. I need my hair cut precisely because of the texture and length, so wouldn’t do it myself and can’t do it myself. Bangs I could do, but don’t have them anymore. lol

@DianneN lol it rains here so much from November to April, my hair winds up in a side braid or low pony. When the sun peeks out for a bit, I sometimes wear it down with a few beach waves in. I watch tutorials for hair ideas and I don't know how they do some of them. I try and look like a mess.

Very nice photo! And if you choose to not go until then that's respectable. My family has continued to go to get their hair done, but we go to a place where there is only one hair stylist and she deals with only one client at a time.

Thank you. My hairdresser opened a fully stocked studio in his breezeway at his house. He told me everyone has to wear a mask and gloves, the place is sanitized between each client, and he's a friend. I still won't go. He understands and will be there when I'm ready.

@MommyOfEli2013 A breezeway is an addition that can connect the main house to the garage. You are young and aren't in a high risk group or where there is a high incidence of the virus.. I am glad you at least wear a mask.

@DianneN No problem. Not sure what a breezeway is....but that sounds fair to me, but I understand if you don't want to go yet. I personally go everywhere I gone before as long as they are still open, just wear a mask if required.
