I made a start - and now I've finished

I wrote the other day about making a start on pulling out a dead creeper. I finished the job today and took the remains down the paddock to a heap of rubbish we have down there. I’ve put a ‘before and after’ photo, although the ‘after’ photo is from a slightly different angle.
While unloading, we saw another racehorse goanna which I’ve also written about recently. He was only about half size and disappeared down a rabbit burrow. They often take over a burrow as their home.
Now we’ve pulled out the creeper we’ve discovered a second outlet to the rainwater tank that we’d forgotten was there. This might be useful if we ever needed water and the power was out. However, it would be gravity fed so wouldn’t have much pressure.
Vince wants to plant a passionfruit vine; I’d quite like another hardenbergia or I’d be happy to let the honeysuckle gradually work its way along the trellis. Care to buy into the debate? Jasmine is out. Vince says it stinks.

I like Jasmine, but I prefer the scent of honeysuckle. Passionfruit vine is a mess when the fruits are ripe and they start to fall on the ground. One of my neighbor pullet it out a couple of years ago. I like the flowers, but they are not in bloom for very long time.

We had a passion fruit vine which our gardener deep pruned it and killed it . That vine yielded loads of passion fruits.

Would you actually get to harvest fruit from the passion fruit vine? That would seem like a nice two-for-one solution. I’m allergic to both jasmine and honeysuckle, but I’m a little more acclimated to honeysuckle because it grows on my fence in the summer. Of course, mine is wild, so I don’t know how a planted and planned vine would work....

Hubby was out in the garden, to my astonishment, trimming back the mulberry tree which branches were more than touching the ground. I gave him strict instructions not to cut it back toooo far.
I'm pretty sure that there is a little gravestone beneath the tree that we didn't know about until all the leaves fell off the tree (our first year here). I think that's where they buried their dog. We gave him a name and talk to him every time we go by. The neighbours probably think we are crazy lol!

That's nice that you talk to the gravestone. I'm sure the previous owners would appreciate it even if the neighbours don't! lol

Looks like that was a lot of work getting rid of that creeper. I don't know anything much about what would work but I do like the smell of honeysuckle and it does spread very well.

Once I started, it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I had nice strong gloves and just kept pulling it away bit by bit. Vince grubbed out the base with a pick.
