Question For Today- Where Does Your Cat Nap?

Cats sure like to get their sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation, the average cat spends 15 hours a day catching Z's. Therefore, kitty's bedtime, and specifically a cat's sleep area is of uppermost importance for your cat. So, maybe you should you go out and buy a special cat bed? It really depends on your cat's preference. My cat Spooky napped in a cat bed I bought, but also on a cat perch I erected by the window. It allowed her to "cat nap," and to also look out the window at birds and squirrels. She seemed to really enjoy that location a lot. When winter came my cat enjoyed curling up in her fluffy bed spending many hours sleeping there each day and evening. Spooky liked to knead, and buying a soft bed she could really sink into was perfect. You can get a good idea of your cat's tastes in sleep areas by observing their behavior. Maybe your kitty enjoys sleeping on a pillow or likes to be hidden away in some small space. Perhaps like my Spooky your pet likes being high up in a window perch. Cats have different personalities so it all depends on them. Where does your cat like to sleep? Does your pet have a favorite location in your house? Photo- cat Source Info- Handyman

Depends on the cat. Chilly has started to become real needy lately. He's been spending his days on either my, or my husband's couch. Evenings and overnight, it's our bed. His favorite activity has to be playing wedge. He'll get in-between my husband and I, when both of us come to bed. Mama's favorite place seems to be the kitchen floor. And, Chinnia likes either the cushion on my wheelchair (when I'm not using it, obviously,) or the laundry basket if it's in the house. Baring either. She's been getting on the couch to sunbathe or finds other places to go.

I think comfort is a key for where cats nap. Your cats definitely enjoy your company. Guess Mama cat needs her space now and then.

At this time I have no cat however when my cat Sid was alive back in Latvia he was always finding spots to nap in both inside and outside the house in the garden and he had some favourite spots, When I brought him to Florida he chose places as high up as he could get and spent most of his last days up on the roof in the sun and at night sitting on the edge of the roof meowing for his beloved Papa Now at least they are together

When I lived in Florida Spooky just loved being out on the lanai in the sun and outside. She originally was rescued by me and was abandoned by her mother. So, being out in the open was comfort to her. Like your cat mine also liked heights. She enjoyed looking out the window at birds and squirrels.

I have an "adopted" cat, he not always wants to sleep inside, so I bought a cat house, his favorite spot where to take a nap. Inside the cat house there is a soft pillow, covered with a towel and a warm blanket.

@dgobucks226 The cat has been left behind by a family who rented a home and move to an apartment. I am taking care of him, poor furry boy.

You've made a nice cozy safe place for your cat. Some cats enjoy a heated environment or a soft bed to sink down into. Looks like your cat likes both.

Depends on who is napping. I have two beds for the pups. If it is sunny, the cats probably will be on my bed, enjoying the light coming through the window. Often our resident Siamese will be busy pestering my hubby.

Some Cats I think enjoy quiet places where they can curl up and not be bothered. Others like to know where you at and will sleep in your presence.

@dgobucks226 The cats in my household are quite socialized. Most nights I fall asleep feeling big Sonny J. cat snuggled against me.

I want to ask questions about cats, why do they like to lie on carpets, sofas, pillows and motorcycle saddles?

Cats have a need for warmth and security, and this fills their need. They also like to leave their scent to mark that item as their territory. Makes them feel safe and secure.

Mickey likes to sleep either under a dining chair or in front of a fan. Both in the floor. Tinker likes to sleep with us in the winter, but then will lounge in the floor when I get up.

Finding a cozy safe spot seems to be uppermost importance for pets I would think a hard floor would be uncomfortable. But I guess the cats feel cozy there. If I was a cat I'd rather opt for a nice soft bed

A sofa would be a popular place. A soft spot for the cat to cuddle.

That would depend on the cat. Lala would sleep in my room but not in my bed. The kittens, whenever they feel tired after sleeping. No idea about the outdoor cats. Most probably under any tree after roaming around.

Your cat Lala must feel safest with you nearby. Or maybe she is keeping you safe
