Vaccination: Here are the issues...

I cannot think of anything but to feel troubled by the new rules of having vaccines. Yesterday morning, I heard from the local news that senior citizens and adults need to have checkups with their doctors before having injected with these vaccines. Their doctors will approve if they can receive it or not. According to the news, people who have allergies, are hypertensive, and the like are not allowed to be vaccinated.
In my humble opinion, the doctors might be feeling hesitant to do this. What if they approved their patients to have them and died? The liabilities will backfire on them.
Do you have this kind of rule?

It's actually the same rules here. Our physicians will let us know. Seems like I can't have it for another two years as I was on strong steroids treatment for an year and left it in Nov 2019. They say we have to wait for three to four years if we had a steroids treatment. Well, when our turn comes our physician would let us know.

@Shavkat I haven't heard of such a thing here, it's not mentioned but what was 'weird' to me is that everyone here who wants to get the vaccine has to sign to accept it at their own risk (!?)
It tells me a lot and I would mention again, I am not thinking about vaccination

@LowRiderX This is an interesting issue, too. Even my president does not want to have a vaccine. It seems that he wanted to see what will be the effect of these vaccines on his people first.

@Shavkat They try to be careful because they themselves do not know what they give and how the vaccine can affect ... I somehow have the impression that we are experimental rats

For once, they are taking a sensable approach. Unlike the situation with mask-wearing, it's actually wise to check with your doctor before taking any kind of medicine. This includes any kind of vaccine.
I can't speak for other countries, but I know in the U.S. at least, Doctors take an oath that states, First do no Harm. Meaning they believe strongly in the risk-benifit. If something could prove dangerous to your health, they won't offer it to you... or recommend you don't do it. So, if a country isn't taking this approach when it comes to the vaccine then they really don't care about the health and well-being of their people.

There is a point that they need to do this. As far as I understood, companies who had produced these vaccines are letting the people to signed a consent form before having them. As they claimed not to be blamed if things went wrong, such as having side effects.

@kaylachan Today, my mom and I were talking about it. She cannot even decide to have this vaccine based on news and its related issues. I do agree that life is at stake when doctors have the probability of mistakes along the process and it applies to the companies of these vaccines. They are trying to be in a safe situation.

In the US, people with hypertension and severe allergies, as long as the allergies aren't to injectable medications or vaccines, are strongly encouraged to get the Covid vaccine when it becomes available to you.
Personally, I don't trust our government or the doctors they endorse to have our safety in mind.
Now, I admit, I could be reading too much into the facts given by the CDC, but I have my doubts about the safety of the vaccines.

That's a sensible rule, although possibly not for all adults. But if they vaccinated someone who is allergic it's bad, and if they vaccinate someone who is really sick the reaction to the vaccine might be too much.
For the vaccines that take two shots, most people have some of reaction to the second shot. For most it's just itching at the arm, but you can get a fever etc. You're supposed to get a reaction, but if you're already very frail, it might be too much.

@Shavkat There are people who are allergic to certain medications. I think that's dangerous in this case than being allergic to seafood, I think you'll be safe. As for the flu symptoms, that sounds likely, 'cause some of the symptoms for covid and flu are very similar and you can get some covid symptoms from the vaccine

I read a member is having flu or something after the first vaccine. I am not sure if it is contraindicated to having allergic to seafood, which I have. In the meantime, I need to be patient with further health protocols here in my country. My mom is a senior citizen and she had the same allergy, so she is a bit worried about these vaccines.

Okay, that's just weird! People with hypertension here are encouraged to get the vaccine. Allergies, too. Why would people in your country be any different from people in the US?

@Shavkat Yep they should that is why the priority is healthcare workers and seniors that are eligible because they are the vulnerable sectors in the society. Healthcare workers are the most vulnerable because they are exposed almost everyday at work. They need to boost their immunity thru the vaccine and start the herd immunity from their sector.

I think they do have certain rules to be followed before taking vaccine , here in India as well. So far those who received the vaccine, mainly the health workers seem to be doing well , so fingers crossed and waiting for the day when all the others get vaccinated.

I don't think we have that rule here. But I can't get the Covid vaccine yet. But when they start doing the vaccine for 40 and over, I will be getting it.

in my country all the citizens must get vaccinated. for those who doesn't want to get vaccinated will pay a bunch of money. For me, i'm willingly to get vaccinated since i think it's good for ourselves. but the line to get the vaccine is to long tho.
