Day 190 Promise 652 1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (KJV) It’s rare when people think they aren’t the worst at something. They know what they are good at and stay away from those things they don’t excel in. Paul knew the kind of man he was. He gave his accolades, but he also said he was the worst of sinners because he persecuted believers. Philippians 3:4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. As Christians, God set you apart not because of who you think you are but because of who He knows you are. Who were you before you became a Christian? Could you claim to be the worst of sinners as Paul did? What’s worse than being worthy of Hell before Jesus saved you? No matter how good or bad you thought you were before you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, you were on your way to Hell. The moment you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, everything changed. Jesus set you free by His blood shed on Calvary. Are you the worst of sinners? Yes, because without Jesus’ shed blood, your destination is Hell. With it, you are on your way to Heaven. Jesus makes the difference in your life. He came to save sinners of whom we all are chief. Let’s pray: Father, without Jesus in my life, I am the worst of sinners. Only the shed blood of Jesus saved me from Hell. Help me live my life knowing who I am in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
