I can speak faster than...

...typing my words. I was checking my typing speed and need to improve it. It is one of the requirements of having a non-voiced teaching job online. I always got an average score of 45 wpm (words per minute). It is a passing score but I wanted to hit at least 50 wpm. Do you like to enhance your existing soft skills? How fast can you type words per minute? Image Credit: media1.tenor.com

I just took a test 64 wpm with a 98% accuracy... I knew that I am fast.

@Shavkat I type faster if someone dictates, reading and typing is slower.

@LadyDuck I agree. I am not good at reading while typing. I can do speaking and typing at the same time.

typing isn't a soft skill I can hit 100 wpm when I am rolling. I can, however, using Dragon Dictate do around 150 wpm. i work on public speaking all the time.

@DocAndersen It is nice to enhance the existing skills. I felt bad for those people who are afraid of changes in their lives.

It is my cup of tea the public speaking part. Typing is not what I wanted to enhance. However, some companies need to be skilled in this, especially in teaching online. Some online students are not good at listening. So the virtual teachers need to type while talking with them.

Do you like to enhance your existing soft skills? Yes, always. How fast can you type words per minute? Not sure but it is above-average.

Depending on where I type, maybe on a smartphone it will actually take a little longer than a physical keyboard.

I think I am faster at typing using my mobile phone. It can be like this with the help of the auto-correct feature.

@Shavkat With a smartphone I only use one hand whereas if I type on a physical keyboard I can use two hands and my speed increases.

On a regular keyboard I can easily do 100 wpm, I have actually tested for a bit higher. That is the reason why I sought out office work, I set records back in high school in typing class, when we used manual typewriters and I always won the class award for the years that I took the class.

That was an achievement in the old days. I think I am not that fast when using the manual one. But I had learned my typing skill with it before. The only hassle is when committing some errors.

@Shavkat I feel that it is something that you can practice and become good at, I am error free, but that is just me.

Of course you can talk faster than you can type. When I was in High School I could type around 45 wpm. I'm faster now, but I have no idea how fast I can type. (Pretty makes fun of me. She types 180 wpm. So, if she's around, I make her do the typing. )

Whoah! She is really fast at typing. If I am not aiming for this non-voiced job, I would not bother to enhance it. I have to check the company's background first. I heard the feedback and it seems not good.

@Shavkat Pretty has long fingernails and she uses them to type with. When she's typing in her room, it sounds like hail on a tin roof. It's really funny! Oh, yeah, I was wondering if you checked out the reviews for the company.

I think it is a requirement to be fast in call center companies. I tried to work in this industry and it is not really for me. I cannot deal with the shifting work schedule. I hope I can improve before applying to this company.
