1,000 lb Sisters Hulu Show

Ok, this show only has like 6 hour long episodes and is on Hulu (if I am not mistaken), following two 30 year old sisters who are, together, the “1,000 pound sisters”. One is like 600-700 lbs, the other is like 400-500 lbs. they decide together they want to try to get approved for weight loss surgery so they start trying to change their habits and lose the weight the bariatric surgeon wants them to (kind of in-line with 600 lb life): These two sisters have an interesting relationship with one another. The younger sister, Amy, is the smaller of the two, is the one with her own place, a husband, can get out and do things. The older, Tammy, lives with Amy and her husband and really can’t get around in her own. She relies on Amy to take care of her, feed her, etc. The two of them have an interesting relationship too because they are constantly goofing around and being silly. In my opinion, it might be a defense mechanism for having to deal with all that they have had to deal with. I finished the 6 episodes of this series and realized there was no season 2 available! Which bums me out. I feel connected to the sisters and want to see their success! Did anyone else watch this show?

That's "reality" t.v. for you. Please don't be too heartbroken if it takes episodes a little longer to come out. Thanks to COVID, the entertainment industry took a huge hit. So, filming and editing reality t.v. might be a little slow-going this year.

Exactly what I was thinking. I hope they do continue to follow their story though!

I suspect they are, but it might be a while before a set of new episodes is released.@maezee

Never heard of that over here, I don't even know what Hulu is. But whatever; I hope they achieve their goals!

It originally airs on the channel called TLC. Don't know if you have that channel.

You can watch season two now! It's not original to Hulu as it aired originally on the channel, TLC. Season two has aired six episodes so far, and it's still interesting. Amy is pregnant (they tell you in the first episode of season 2), and Tammy is still gaining weight. I think they are hilarious, but it's maddening sometimes when Tammy blames everyone for her weight, including Amy. This season their older brother is featured more, and so is Tammy's boyfriend, Jerry. I think he's cheating on her, but he's definitely not helping her diet. Amy has to fight off the cravings being pregnant has given her, and she and Michael need a bigger place. Everyone is worried how Tammy relies on Amy so much because after the baby comes she can't do both. TLC hit it out of the park with these two. You'd think it would be depressing, and it can be sad, but their humor is amazing.

Wow 1,000 pounds between the two of them. Never seen or heard of this one either but I don’t have access to Hulu.

No, I've never heard of this show. You are right, goofing around is a defense mechanism, to cope with painful circumstances.

For sure. They definitely started making progress with handling their emotions and I was interested in hearing more.

@maezee I hope they both succeed, bringing their weight down after surgery.

I have seen several shows that include obese people and all of them seem painful to me. I just cannot understand why so many people are so obese (and many of them undernourished as they mostly eat junk food).

That sounds voyoueristic to me but I'm not a reality TV fan.
